A Democratic congressional candidate in South Dakota is withdrawing his candidacy at the request of the South Dakota Democratic Party (SDDP) in light of scrutiny he is facing for past tweets he made about several South Dakota Republicans, including Rep. Dusty Johnson and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.
The South Dakota Democratic Party announced in a release on Thursday that South Dakota House candidate Ryan Ryder (D) is withdrawing his candidacy.

The announcement comes as several news outlets reported about tweets that Ryder made through a personal Twitter account previously, which targeted several Republicans in the state.
In one tweet, he speculates about making an animated video showing him killing the family of Johnson and in another he jokes about performing sexual acts to a picture of the South Dakota governor, Dakota News Now reported.
“A lot of these were basically just biting sarcasm, just flippant and rude,” Ryder told Dakota News Now. “A lot of these had important context on them.”

Ryder's personal Twitter account has been deactivated, the AP noted. The Hill could not immediately access Ryder’s campaign website, nor could he be reached immediately for comment.
“These statements from Mr. Ryder do not live up to the values of the South Dakota Democratic Party, and we do not support this type of language,” SDDP Chair Randy Seiler said in a statement on Thursday.

Democrats do tend to be more crude/rude than Conservatives.
The language of black-dressed “Insurgents” videoed at the Capitol (01/21) is not the language of Trumpsters.
It’s “Democrat” party not “Democratic”.
There’s nothing democratic about these socialists anymore.
I was amazed to see “Democratic” in the title, usually takes until near the end of the article to identify a dem if there is derogatory information.
I have no sympathy for this nitwit. However it is another example of why twitter is poison and it should be shut down entirely.
Nothing good comes from posting anything there.
Of course they do.
The Democratic Party of America is about the most evil political party on the planet.
Not even the North Korean Communist Party comes close.
DemonRAT, fixed it for you.
This happened only because it is South Dakota, an area of the country where civility is expected. If it had been, say, New York, then it would be called resume enhancement.
“These statements from Mr. Ryder do not live up to the values of the South Dakota Democratic Party, and we do not support this type of language,” SDDP Chair Randy Seiler said in a statement on Thursday.
We do not support this language is a distraction from the real issue.
They fully support his actions. They knew what he was before this.
THANK YOU!
It is really time to start calling out the media for constant using of “ic” when referencing words spoken and actions taken by the Democrat party.
It is not just “bad English”, since when’s the last time you saw or heard the word “Republicanic” used in articles referencing actions taken by “the party of Lincoln”?
It is also FALSE reporting, because so much of what the “Democrat Party” currently does is in NO WAY “democratic”, but autocratic and even Communistic!
So, again, because WORDS MATTER, THANK YOU!!
My favorite name for that organization and its “brood of vipers”!
Wow. If one doesn’t “live up to the values” of a party built on hate, lies, and the murder of children, one is pretty low indeed
THIS should have been the FIRST sentence.
“In one tweet, he speculates about making an animated video showing him killing the family of Johnson and in another he jokes about performing sexual acts to a picture of the South Dakota governor, Dakota News Now reported.”
GET RIGHT TO THE POINT!
Every time Hannity calls them 'Democratic' I cringe.
Me too, but it’s not just Hannity.
Even Mark Levin says it, but I think if it were pointed out to him, he could do a great monolog about how WRONG it is to use in reference to the actions of the Democrat (DEMONRAT) party.
Hannity always uses the '-ic' - guess he tries to be 'respectful' to his 'Rat guests for whatever reason.
Thanks! Good catch
