WNBA star Brittney Griner's wife has posted to Instagram about the Phoenix Mercury player's detention in Russia.
Griner was detained after Russian officials said they found vape cartridges containing oil derived from cannabis in her luggage at the Sheremetyevo airport near Moscow.
The offense could carry up to 10 years in prison.

But, if she broke the drug laws of another country, she is subject to their laws and justice system.

My friend, who is a gun dealer, went to China for a holiday. Unbeknownst to him, there was one bullet that had fallen in the lining of his luggage when he was attending a show earlier that year. Well, the Chinese found it and send him to jail. I don’t remember how long it took, but his wife had to come back and work it from this end.

WTH was she doing in Russia anyway? I doubt the Russians have any desire to watch WNBA garbage.
I don’t feel sorry for her. Her hatred of America was apparent when she protested against the National Anthem being played before games. She is a BLM supporter. Now she can see how other countries are run, it may give her an appreciation of the USA in her jail cell.
Too many people fail to realize or ignore the fact that many nations DO NOT have the liberal attitudes we in the West do towards drugs.
A fact that people might want to consider before they travel overseas.
Most of these nations with strict laws about narcotics have much lower crime rates too......
