Concierge Auctions, which handled the sale, told the Los Angeles times that more than three dozen prospective buyers toured five-acre property in the last couple of months, including billionaires from across the US, Middle East and Asia.
However, when the auction opened on Monday, only five bidders from the US and New Zealand made offers on the 'white elephant' superhome, with the winning buyer remaining unidentified until paperwork is submitted to a U.S. Bankruptcy Court next week.

“Excessive Manor”
Tel your friend, that, if they have to ask, they have no business even looking.
This looks like a perfect winter weekend getaway. Pool maintenance looks to have been kept up. That's a good thing.
Is it just me, but no helo landing pad? The nerve of these people. I'll pass, and let some down and out person purchase it.
42 full / 7 half
$10,000 per month would be closer.
People have spent enormous fortunes ‘indulging’ a tasteful, personal love of true art.
I have no problem with that - I think it’s a good way to spend excessive wealth. A lot of what they’ve done has wound up as national treasure.
But this ‘home’ is just trash.
(Sorry, but I’m pretty opinionated :-)
No need to apologize! I would prefer ‘understated elegance’. This is so way over the top that it is indeed quite vulgar. In very bad taste.
With all respect, I think it’s pretty far down below the ‘top’ :-)
Looks like an airport terminal. Who built this monstrosity?
It’s a cute shack, personally I think Mr P’s shack was far nicer, plus it was 3 times the acreage and was pretty neat. Stop in sometime and ask Lachlan for a tour, service gate is 750 Bel Air Rd.You’ll see what I mean. He actually got it on the cheap, Mrs P just wanted to get rid of it.
I also know Hankey, he has a cute shack next door to Geoffreys in Malibu(Harvey Baskin’s Restaraunt) (When I met Harvey the first time he was renting Miles Davis house in Malibu by Leo Carillo Beach) and another ranch style house up the road off Bonsall. SoCal is a pretty small town for me
“So, the subcontractors are going to have to eat it.”
The largest mansion in Billings, MT (maybe $10 million??) I don’t think was fully finished before the owner got arrested for embezzelment, etc.
That was my first thought too - the subs that built it.
Yep, they only care about the land.
