udge sentenced Loyd to death for murder of Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton
Convicted cop killer Markeith Loyd was sentenced to death by a judge Thursday morning for the murder of Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton in 2017.
Judge Leticia Marques made her final decision months after a jury recommended the death penalty for Loyd, 46. Loyd was found guilty on five charges, including first-degree murder, in the shooting death of Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton outside a Walmart in 2017 while he was on the run for killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Sade Dixon, in December 2016.
Orlando police officers who were working with Clayton when she was killed were in the courtroom to hear the judge’s decision. One of Clayton’s cousins gasped with relief when Marques announced Loyd would be sentenced to death.

some justice in this world...
Yeah because it’s Florida......if this was NY or crazyfornia he’d probly already be walking the streets.
The standard procedure should be for the jury and others to put on hearing protection immediately after the verdict so that when the bailiff puts a 8.3 grams to the cerebellum no one’s hearing is injured.
Let the youtube views be monetized to help the victim’s family.
Years later.
He should be dead tomorrow.
California has 737 on death row. I remember one day three different people in the state were given the death penalty. But no one has been executed in over 15 years.
His victim: Orlando Police Lt. Debra Clayton
So, he’ll die of old age on death row. And if he behaves, he’ll be out by next Thursday for good behavior.
‘He should be dead tomorrow.’
Very true. He will live another 15 years in a cell with gym, food, library, medical benefits.
Oh, and does he pay taxes on the expenses for food, lodging, heating/ac, property, clothing... ?
What’s the chance he’ll meet the needle in under a decade?
How did this justice happen though? The prosecutor (a Soros prosecutor) said she would not seek the death penalty. The Governor (then Gov Scott) removed her from the case and the new prosecutor sought the death penalty. The jury agreed.
Hopefully we don’t have to pay for this POS room and board for 30 years.

Wow. You can see love in the eyes of the vic and souless eyes in the perp when you post them this large!
FL has executed 99 in the last 46 years so that’s about 2 per year. With 364 inmates on death row, the vast majority will die of natural causes loooooong before they ever have to worry about the needle.
Backed nowadays by a GOP dominated state government, Florida’s criminal justice system is serious about the death penalty. Unfortunately, for many years, liberals on the the Florida Supreme Court and in the federal judiciary have bent over backwards to try to subvert its regular implementation. Markeith Loyd will now join 316 inmates on Florida’s death row.
Justice won’t be served until the juice flows and I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting.
