After we saw Bryce Harper make overtures to a team in Japan, Gallo posted images of his real (if not tongue-in-cheek) LinkedIn profile as hope continues to wane that MLB players and owners will reach a new collective bargaining agreement that prevents missed games this season.

Somewhat amusingly, Gallo listed his “skills” as striking out, hitting into the shift and getting dressed weird.
SNIP
“I think most hitters are pretty adamant on the shift, that they have to do something with it,” Gallo said. “I don’t really see many hitters going, ‘The shift is pretty awesome, man. They need to keep that.’ I think people understand that hitting is hard enough — but when you have guys standing in different positions where it makes it almost impossible to get hits, that makes it even harder, obviously.”

That’s what I’m saying, you didn’t see in the past because mlb hitters would tear the other team apart hitting to the opposite field.
Now it’s all about analytics and chicks love the long ball, everyone now wants to be Hank Aaron instead of Pete Rose.
Can you imagine teams trying the shift against some of the all time greats of the game? Like Ted Williams? Joe Dimagio? Rod Carew? Pete Rose? Hank Aaron? They’d opposite field them to death and they’d bat over .500 Why can’t the hitters of today do that? Because they’re always swinging for the fences, which in my opinion is bad baseball.
The two what? Did you say yutes?
Three cheers for minor league ball, though.
They’re going to ban the shift by mandating that the shortstop and third baseman has to stay on their side of second base before the pitcher’s delivery. Should have been done long ago if you ask me.
Also, they’ve already agreed to universal DH rule in both leagues, and that one really pisses me off.
They did it for money, plain and simple. Let them take their place with chariot racing in the dustbin of history.
Has that something to do with Pickleball?
What a joke
He also does not know where his home field and front office is when he played for the Rangers.
ha ha
pkay baseball is Primary sKool baseball. Then you go onto to jv baseball.
They are but just not like it used to be in America. Latin America is where the future is so to speak.
“Two yutes”
“Two yutes? What’s a yute?”
Well done!!!
If they tried the shift against Pete Rose even today he’d still bat .350
Yeah, this shift crap is bad for the spectators of the game. It takes away a lot of the action.
Well if a hitter can’t figure out how to spray the ball around, he deserves to get out.
