Coke Freestyle machines seem to have all of the soda flavors you could ever want. But not even the Coke Freestyle dispensers can bring back the discontinued sodas of yore. From the inventive (Coca-Cola combined with coffee, anyone?) to the truly strange (we're looking at you, bacon soda), the beverage industry has come up with some wild creations over the years.

Here are a few soda flavors that have gone the way of the dinosaur. We can't say we miss them, but it's fun to reminisce about these vintage options.

RC Cola is still around. In Virginia it’s still popular.

I still think New Coke was a temporary head-fake to cover the switch from cane sugar in “old” Coke to corn syrup in “Classic” Coke.

OK I actually grew to like. A sparkling citrus-flavored beverage that wasn’t the traditional lemon-lime.

These were sodas that I’ve enjoyed over the years that disappeared: Quirst (a 7-up product from the ‘70s) and Citra (a Coke product from the ‘90s). Both of them were lemon-flavored.

Original coke - which came in glass bottles and included a pinch of cocaine.

Original coke - which came in glass bottles without the pinch.

Shows you how out of touch I am, but I still have fond memories as a kid of getting an RC Cola, putting salted peanuts into it, and while drinking it, eating a moon pie.

Kids today have no clue. There was usually a cake of dry ice in the grocery store parking lot in the morning...mid ‘60s. Good fun.

I remember this one. It was only around for a few years prior to Diet Pepsi:

My favorite was WINK by Canada Dry. I also liked Snapple Root Beer. They got rid of it and made fruit flavored soda. I stopped buying Snapple at that point.
