A WOMAN has revealed that she hates her own name so much, that she's planning on changing it to something "normal."
The anonymous woman, from the US, took to Reddit and explained: "My mother named me Persephone 28 years ago when the name wasnât a thing."

She went on to say how she has always used the nickname Seph and would like to keep the nickname.
"Are there any names that could be shortened to Seph?" she continued.
"Also I donât necessarily have to keep Seph. Maybe some name about harvest? (I was born on harvest month/season).
"And my favourite season has always been Autumn. So I would appreciate a name that has something to do with that."
And it wasn't long before social media users took to the comments section to express their views on her name and to offer alternate suggestions.
"You are changing your name just as your name is becoming 'normal,'" wrote one. "If you want a name that is 'normal' from the decade you were born Stephanie is probably the closest to Seph and means garland crown."
"Autumn was also in the top 200 for girls during the 90âs. Sienna and Scarlett are fall colours and beautiful names."
A second commented: "Probably not an answer you were looking for, and itâs just my opinion, but Persephone to me is a really pretty name.

"It has the cadence of 'Stephanie' or 'Penelope' but I think itâs more intriguing, and of course the classic Greek myth story adds to the timeless value and allure of it."
Meanwhile, a third added: "My name is Seph, not short for anything. In my biased opinion it's a great name all its own, why not just go with that?"
A fourth suggested: "Sapphire is September's birthstone; that works with the nickname and the season."
In other parenting news, this mum shared hack to stop her car being ruined by kidsâ muddy trainers and people are obsessed.
And this mum lets her daughter break school uniform rules âfor her own goodâ â but totally divides opinion.
Plus this savvy mum-of-seven used a bunk bed hack to fit six of her kids into ONE room.
Haha, this reminds me of a friend of mine in high school.
Wasn’t that a Wishbone Ash song? I think it’s cool but that’s not my name!
The article barely mentions this fact, but I’d like to point out that 28 years ago the name wasn’t a thing.
Lovely back story on Persephone.
Her dad, Zeus, raped her, then she married the Devil in the Underworld...
Why is the same sentence repeated?
That’s Greek mythology for you. And Egyptian is pretty out there too.
How can she be ‘anonymous’ when the whole story is about her name?
Wishbone Ash?? Have not thought of them in ages. Saw them once when I was in high school. Great band!

I predict she will go with Sephamika or perhaps Roshonaseph.
Cramma?
It’s a pretty name but not the story.
My wife and I named our first son "Emerson". (I always loved the name: Emerson Fittipaldi and I was a race fan).
He was in middle school, I was driving, and he asked: Why did you give me that name?
I gave him a smart alec answer: "Just be glad I didn't name you Sue.
Fast forward 6 years. He is in the Navy, riding in a car with a buddy and calls me:
"Dad, I just heard the song. Now I get it."
"What are you talking about?" (I'd long ago forgotten the moment, he hadn't).
"Johnny Cash. I'm listening to the song. Now I get it, what you said.
Kid has a memory like his Mom.

Sewph-ilis.
I'm the only David there.
So is Norse.
Funny how name popularity changes over the years.
My mom wanted to name me Wolfgang but my dad shot it down… dang.
How about Stephanie with a nickname of Steph?
