On Tuesday, the Department of Defense authorized the deployment of over 700 National Guard members and over 50 tactical vehicles in anticipation of multiple trucker convoy protests that are expected to take place in Washington, D.C.
According to CNN, the National Guardsmen will not be armed, but will instead be stationed around the city to provide control and support at various traffic points. They allegedly will not be authorized to carry out law enforcement duties or mass surveillance. In addition, the DC National Guard is prohibited from using any aircraft during the protests.
The deployment comes after the Pentagon received two different requests for National Guard support. The first came from DC’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency, to which Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin agreed by authorizing 400 National Guardsmen and 50 large tactical vehicles, which will remain in place throughout the city until March 8th. The second request came from the U.S. Capitol Police, to which Austin approved an additional 300 members of the National Guard, who will be stationed around the Capitol building.
The move by the Defense Department comes ahead of several trucker convoys that are en route for the nation’s capital in the coming days. Inspired by the highly successful “Freedom Convoy” protest in Canada, which protested in the capital city of Ottawa against vaccine mandates for truckers, multiple different convoys are now being planned for the DC area in the days leading up to Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address on March 1st.
One truck convoy is allegedly heading to DC on Wednesday from Pennsylvania, while another convoy is set to leave from California for a cross-country journey that will end in DC sometime next week.
In response to the planned protests, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that the Biden Administration...

I hope that people are not fooled by FIB dirty tricks. Is that hoping for too much? Probably.
We sure do live in interesting times.
I’d hope no one is fooled into a media spectacle but I’m usually not optimistic.
700 National Guard troops, 1000 trucks and growing...
Best to stay at home, D.C.
These don’t seem to be the actions of a Pentagon concerned about war with Russia; more concerned about a war on its own people.

You have a Constitutional right to petition for redress of grievances, but nothing says you have a right to do it without police snipers on the buildings and hundreds of troops with (real) assault rifles, tanks, etc., pointed at you, or get doxxed, or have your pets murdered, or have your bank accounts frozen and your trucks and other possessions seized and sold. /democrat
He doesn't want to let anyone know where he is at any point in time.
“700 National Guard troops, 1000 trucks and growing...”
You would think these troops would be sent to the border to GUARD OUR FREAKING BORDER!
Don’t go to DC. Just park outside and don’t allow any traffic in or out. Duh.
This makes it clear that our own Government is the greatest danger to our Freedom!
The letter will say “My butt’s been wiped. Let’s go Brandon. I agree”.
How far will they go to push their latest propaganda that we the people are a danger? Is the plan now to push incidents in order to ban future protests of Washington? Seems to be the case even though the Constitution grants us the right to protest our government and to address it for grievances. But hey, what’s the Constitution to Washington politicians anyway? Electoral fraud puts the right puppets in the White House and Congress where they can deal with the unwashed masses.
I sure hope that none of these people protesting their government are hurt or worse. Wish I could be there in DC with them.
He doesn’t even know where he is at any point in time. He has to be told.
Yes. Yes. And YES.
All sarcasm and joking aside. After glancing at this article, the biggest question I’m left to ask is when will enough be enough? What has to happen before not just hundreds, but hundreds of thousands of people are marching on DC demanding redress of grievances? Demanding recall of politicians who were placed into office by electoral fraud? What’s it going to take to spur people out of their comfort zone and into action? Absolutely nothing is going to change unless we rise up in strength and demand it. And too many seem content to sit at home on their couches and watch tv instead. That’s what they are counting on.
Biden doesn’t know where he is at at any time. Hopefully, he still knows poop from peanut butter.
But not to the botder.
God bless these truckers but they are giving the Democrats the perfect excuse not to hold his regular state of the union address. Biden does not do well in the evening nor does he do well on live TV.
The January 6 incursion into the White House gave the Democrats the perfect excuse not to have the 24 hours of presentation of evidence of election fraud by well prepared Republican congressman and senators. For 12 hours, from the house and from the Senate, the American people would have seen live these presentations and they would’ve been written into the congressional record. When you look at “who benefits” it was definitely the Democrats on January 6.
It sure seems like next week would be a good time to drive around looking for cherry blossoms.
