A Blue Alert happens when a law enforcement officer has been hurt or killed on duty.
Miedema was pulled over for a routine traffic stop around 10 p.m. Tuesday near Salem. He opened fire and shot Deputy Troy Anderson, who was airlifted to a hospital in life-threatening condition.
Wednesday, deputies were called to a residence near the Taylor County-Dixie County line where a homeowner reported the shooting of an intruder.
The homeowner stated he exchanged gunfire with the suspect that broke into his residence and the suspect was killed.
FDLE Tallahassee Special Agent in Charge Mark Perez stated that investigators believe that suspect was Blue Alert subject Gregory Ryan Miedema. The suspect’s body was found near the same car that was listed in the Blue Alert. Multiple firearms were also found.
The homeowner was hospitalized and released with minor injuries.

The Sheriff of Westmoreland County, PA is definitely a pro 2A person and he runs his office the same way.
On a different subject, the western section of my county just got sold out and we are now a part of the district that contains the city of Pittsburgh.
The filthy state supreme court {demonRATs} re-drew the congressional map, and shoved us into the demonRAT 12th district.
Fro the first time in my life time, Westmoreland County finally became a pubbie majority county, and the court carves us up and throws me to the demonRATs.
Grrrrr.
My wife and I received the alert via our phones about midnight Tuesday. Scared the stuffing out of us.
Glad he’s no longer a danger.
Love the logo!
Why did he shoot the guy? Wasn’t there any social workers available?
Why did the homeowner have to break into his residence?............
There's been a lot of discussion on that topic recently; maybe something from the following list might serve as a helpful reminder:
1) The folks pushing to "defund the police" apparently only want to get rid of local & State law enforcement, while simultaneously INCREASING the power of our national 'political' police, like the ATF, Capitol Police, FBI, etc.
2) As soon as those same folks get into a dangerous situation themselves, they usually - guess what? - call the local police.
3) Seems like human societies, large and small, have used some kind of law enforcement on a trial basis for a while now (like 5,000 years?). Maybe it's time to conclude that the alternative (NOT having police) isn't a great option.
4) Speaking of human societies, your neighbors might wonder about you (just a bit), if you team up with a bunch of black-suited arsonists, looters and murderers carrying "ACAB" banners. Missing out on block parties and barbecues would be a heck of a price to pay, just to get Barney Fife fired!

Excellent news to start the day!
Break into a residence, you die. Sounds like justice has been done.
I hope the homeowner is aware of the gratitude of the people of Florida. While he did put one person out of a job (the deceased LOL), he saved a lot of people a lot of grief. And he saved the taxpayers many dollars.
Let’s not forget to pray for the injured officer and his family.
Hey Neighbor! I’m in Wakulla!
He’s awesome!
Howdy! How are you? Right now we are camping in Chattahoochee on Lake Seminole. Beautiful!
That it is. I’m currently at work in the Socialist Republic of Leon!
