There does remain one major difference between Canada and Cuba. Few Cubans support their Marxist leaders, but most Canadians support theirs. They don't know what they're in for.
Canada is leaving the Western world.
In terms of all-encompassing government, suppression of dissent and the denial of fundamental human rights to many of its citizens, Canada is now more similar to Cuba than to any free country. Canada may eventually return to Western civilization, but right now, the majority of Canadians appear to have no interest in it doing so. According to Maru Public Opinion, “two-thirds (66 percent) of Canadians support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bringing in the Emergencies Act . . . A majority (56 percent) of Canadians do not support the truckers who are protesting in any way, shape, or form . . . This is a majority view held in every province/region across the country.”
I suspect that most Americans—and certainly most people outside of America or Canada—do not know precisely what Canada’s Marxist prime minister, Justin Trudeau, is doing to his country.
So, allow me to review.
Last week, for only the second time in Canadian history other than wartime—the first time was under Justin Trudeau’s father, Pierre Trudeau, the other Marxist to govern Canada—Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act. This statute enables a Canadian prime minister to suspend fundamental human rights and rule as a dictator.
The CBC described in detail how Trudeau is using the Emergencies Act to destroy the lives of Canadian dissidents. This should be read carefully. Such policies have never been enacted by a Western country against its own citizens (with the extremely rare exceptions of those actively engaged in terrorism):
“Using powers granted under the Emergencies Act, the federal government has directed banks and other financial institutions to stop doing business

Do the people in Canada have any independent news or is it all state TV?
Yes, but we have plenty of liberals in the US that are drooling over the prospect of imposing their will and world view on anyone who truly values freedom. That they might get to use force is just a bonus to them.
Yes, and we have hundred J6 political prisoners languishing in the DC jail in direct contravention of several Amendments in the Bill of Rights. We are not much better.
Almost all of the Media in Canada is either owned by the State, controlled by the State, or propped up financially by the State.
There are probably a few independent newspapers in the Western provinces.
We’re not far behind.
There are sort of two english national networks other than the state funded CBC. CTV and Global. In Quebec there is also a non state network. For the most part they parrot the left wing line as well but maybe not as biased as the CBC/Radio Canada. There are also local stations. Anything right wing like Rebel News is small potatoes. The press has some right wing stuff like the Toronto Sun but it’s like the US. How many papers in the US can you call right wing conservative?
It’s state operated media, as in the UK. Pretty much as if NPR and Public teevee was all there was.
On notorious trials, it is illegal in Canada, to broadcast news on the trial progress. All of that to maintain control over the people. It works.
That explains alot.
Canada, exactly like Cuba minus the cool 50’s cars.
“two-thirds (66 percent) of Canadians support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau bringing in the Emergencies Act”
...and when he confiscates your bank account for unacceptable views, I will just laugh at you….
Uh, Cuba is North America's Cuba...
Canada is the Cuba north of the 49th parallel.
I will probably be bashed for saying this, but I have to ask if Canada politics is something I should be ‘involved’ with. Sure, I root for freedom and I root for the people trying to express their need for freedom in a peaceful way. Yes, I realize that Canada has inherently different system from the United States in that the State controls more. However, I don’t think that involvement in Canadian politics by Americans is a good thing. Canadians either want to be free, or they want to live under jackboot thugs, it’s up to them. People in Venezuela and Cuba made choices too! Some of the same choices that Canada and Canadians are making now.
I believe that in order for a people to obtain and stay free, there will always be blood of Tyrants and Patriots. Currently, in my eyes, Canada is on a fast ‘emergency’ power act to Tyranny. It will likely be a long dark winter with the state powers and the media propaganda, before Freedom is seen again. Perhaps generations of enslavement will be needed before they see the lights of freedom again.
While I am saddened by what has occurred in Australia, New Zealand, and now Canada, I cannot help but believe that the United States is not far behind now. The United States was the beacon of Freedom for the entire world, now with 81 million Biden votes and a corrupt intelligence community, we are on our way out.
May the last person, in the last free country, turn out the lights.
Look in all directions before crossing...
Don’t count us out yet.
They’re in line, right behind the United States.
Don’t count us out yet.
A few weeks of calm to regroup and then look out or maybe this weekend
