Vanity - How did you like taxes this year?
Self

Posted on 02/22/2022 10:29:40 AM PST by Intar

Went from receiving over $4K in tax refunds to paying over $4k in one year. I knew I was going to take a hit, but didn't expect quite the doozy! What has been your experience this tax season?

It’s really not too tough to manage the Income Tax yet.

One just needs to pay attention and work one’s plan.

Almost always best to have it work out to pay a small amount with the return.

if you're older and have no children and saved a few bucks, you're definitely going to get it...

I feel older people, especially us without govt pensions, are being slowly bankrupted to death....

the "stimulus" was also very targeted to exclude many of us...

You made a great summation of taxes in America in 2022.

Have young children, with or without socials? Making out like a bandit.

Have a government pension with that free medical? Yep, doing pretty well also. Enjoy that 5.9% increase.

Independent and on your own?

Death by a thousand price increases and paper cuts.

I sold my house after 20 years and will owe probably 5 or 6 grand after all deductions. Even after the 250k exemption. Paying turbotax to do them.

I’m retired, have no savings, no dependents, own no property, no investments, etc. I always file the short form. I’ll be getting about the same amount as I got last year. I feel bad for people like you. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to pay an amount like that to the IRS.

“Went from receiving over $4K in tax refunds to paying over $4k in one year.”

That means nothing without financial info.

We get raped for about $4,000 this year. No good deed goes unpunished. Work hard, do better for yourself, and get the hammer.
Keep it up honkeys! Millions of illegal aliens and welfare recipients are depending on you!

I've been using Turbo for several yrs now....I get the full package but I do all the figuring and filling out myself....

I thought it would be a nightmare because I took out about 4 distributions from my 401k Retirement acct but fidelity had it all figured up on one page so it was easy....

got them in on a Thursday evening and it was in my bank the next Friday....

Yeah if there was no tax software, I’d have to option it off to a tax service. The number of forms these days is over the top.

Like any part of the govt, the tax law just continues to expand over time.

HILLBILLY STRIPTEASE

Cletus is passing by Billy Bob's hay barn one day when, through a gap in the door, he sees Billy Bob doing a slow and sensual striptease in front of an old John Deere tractor.

Buttocks clenched, he performs a slow pirouette, and gently slides off first the right strap of his overalls, followed by the left. He then hunches his shoulders forward and in a classic striptease move, lets his overalls fall down to his hips, revealing a torn and frayed plaid shirt.

Then, grabbing both sides of his shirt, he rips it apart to reveal his stained T-shirt underneath. With a final flourish, he tears the T-shirt from his body, and hurls his baseball cap onto a pile of hay.

Having seen enough, Cletus rushes in and says, "What the world're ya doing, Billy Bob?"

"Good grief, Cletus, ya scared the bejeebers out of me," says an obviously embarrassed Billy Bob ..

"But me 'n the wife been havin trouble lately in the bedroom d'partment, and the therapist suggested I do something sexy to a tractor."
