Admittedly, not a fan of Samsung here.
And not talking just about phones, either. At one time, every major high ticket item I bought was from the Samsung corp. We used Galaxies at work in those days but that aside, what with all the hype, there was something slick and snazzy about Samsung so, when it came to replacing the washer/dryer or wide screen TV, Samsung just seemed the way to go. That is, until things started to break down which in quick order all did-just beyond the warranty period, coincidentally-I discovered that, unlike most American companies, these rascals won't stand by their products.
That was a shock so I resolved that you couldn't pay me to ever buy another Samsung anything. Then, time came to get a smart phone. Even though I had used them for my job, I never so much as considered looking at one of the glittering Samsung offerings in spite of the hype and breathless propaganda. For me, it was iPhone sight unseen.

You can't imagine how smart I felt when shortly after my purchase we started to hear the first report of Samsung phones bursting into flames and causing third-degree burns on people's legs and what have you. Finally, they were banned from commercial flights. By then, I was already grateful for the company's wretched customer "service" because it saved me much grief downstream.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy 21. I don’t even know all it does, I never will. I just take what the cell phone store gives me and say: “Thank you may I have another?”

I remember Ma Bell just giving me the one that was attached to the wall.

Don’t wanna buy Apple, Nike or Coke after I heard they were lobbying against forced labor in China bill. Try my best to buy things made in America. Is Samsung basically all China made? Is there anyway to get a cell phone bypassing Chinese slave/near slave labor?

Have always thought Apple products are neat, but they’re gonna lecture about supposed racial injustice in this country while being in bed with the Chinese Communists?

Samsung in general has gone to pot. An old Samsung J series outperforms anything they are putting out today. Just garbage really.

The chip whose performance they are knocking is only available on some non-US models of the phone. Samsung has done this before outside of the US. I suspect that they sell a “value” priced S22 in some markets.

Phones that aren’t Chinese, Samsung or Apple are getting pretty thin.

We are pretty much left with Nokia and Sony.
That’s assuming Nokia releases the 10 this year.

Everything I bought new from Samsung (two phones and two tablets) started out great and over time became progressively slower. Plus, android has fairly frequent issues that can be quite annoying.

I finally broke down and bought used (I can’t see spending the amount they want for new) Apple products and they’ve been great. They never get slower and always work with all of the websites.

I still have the Samsung tablets hanging around the house and the only thing I use them for is to stream Spotify to my speakers and rarely Youtube to my TVs. They’re too slow for anything else.

This reads like a boot licking and blind fanboy article rather than something logical and rational.

I have an A32 to replace my 2nd Samsung phone. It actually is not as good at connecting to wireless stations.

My old phone is a little bit slower, but NEVER fails to connect through any wireless point.

I would like to see a comparison of battery performance. Iphones of that age tend to experience battery degradation if left charging past 100%.

That’s a very narrow view of what makes a modern smartphone...sounds like an Apple fanboy.

As I’m not a gamer, which are the only apps where I’d be concerned about performance, I never worry about the CPU/GPU performance these days - at least over many other factors. Do I like the size and quality of the display? How good is the camera? How much storage does it have? How long is the battery good for? etc.

To focus on pure CPU/GPU speed isn’t a top reason unless a given phone is remarkably bad...like some of these $40 Android phones out there - but you get what you pay for.

I have an ipad mini that’s become fairly useless. It can’t be updated to a new enough version of iOS for me to be able to install any new apps.

Apple loves obsolescence.

T-MOBILE just gave me $400 for my old Galaxy S8 on trade in for my Galaxy S21 FE, so this is an outstanding device for $300. Performing magnificently so far. Huge bang for the buck.
Not sure what the S22 brings to the table but I doubt I'd give an extra $800 for it.
My strategy of staying 1 or 2 steps behind the technology is a very affordable one.

I had a LG3 for under $200 new that was the equal of the Samsung S10 as far as screen resolution and camera at over $800. The Samsung has louder better sound. I bought a LG6 for $400 at Ebay that was as good and I liked the ergonomics of the buttons but Samsung still had the louder sound.

I have now bought a Samsung S10 at Amazon for about $280 last Sept. The iPhone also has a loud sound I like but I cannot go over to the dark side.... : )

Wait a year or two and get the high priced phone for more then half off.
