LOS ANGELES (AP) — LGBTQ representation on scripted TV series has grown along with the footprint of streaming services, according to an annual study by the advocacy group GLAAD.
“TV is leading entertainment in telling LGBTQ stories,” Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of GLAAD, said in the “Where We Are on TV” report on the 2021-22 season that was released Thursday.
In recognition of the increased number and profile of streaming services, the study added five relative newcomers to the trio — Amazon, Hulu and Netflix — included in previous GLAAD diversity tallies.
Broadcast networks and cable channels are part of the study, which also looks at broadcast representation of women, people of color and those with disabilities.
Netflix, which has consistently topped its streaming competitors in LGBTQ inclusivity, according to GLAAD, ranked first again, with 155 regularly seen or recurring characters on its original comedy and drama series.
By comparison, prime-time series on the ABC, CBS, CW, Fox and NBC networks include a combined 141 LGBTQ characters this season, according to the study.

Have faith. In the end people will watch content that is actually interesting. And propaganda is not very interesting. The market will have it’s way. Trust me.
Unfortunately judging by the Superbowl's ratings, even Most Conservatives are just unwilling to do so.
Many people have cut cable entirely. They get internet from their phones. They use free HD antenna for broadcast TV if they were ever interested. No streaming.
Life without MSN and the entertainment-industrial complex is very liberating.

I wish we had leaders who stood up for Christian values and trusted that God would take care of us. I think we see the repercussions are having leaders thar bow down to this perverse community. And yes, exhibit A is Trump. I applaud him for taking on Roe versus Wade and abortion. That decision is 50 years old. Yet he says homosexual marriage is settled law and that’s only a few years old.

There are several shows I’ve started watching and enjoyed several episodes of, and then they bring the freaks out just to bring them out. I stop watching. I wonder if Netflix tracks views and if they stop at certain episodes to never continue.

Ironically yes, there are a lot of Russian TV Series on YouTube that I enjoy watching.
I suppose when war comes they’ll come for me.
Don’t run into that with turner clasic movies. That’s all I watch for tv besides some racing and some highly scripted gold mining shows practically. The moment they introduce gay characters to the racing and mining shows, those will be off the list too. Or I will just watch old reruns (my mind is bad enough that it will seem like new shows to me lol)
