Clad in a chef’s hat, Curtis Kimball ladled pancake batter onto an electric griddle as hundreds of hungry neighbors lined up for one of his fluffy flapjacks.
It was a pancake party, and Kimball, 43, hosted it on the front driveway of his home in San Francisco on Feb. 12. This was the second such event; the first he kicked off in late January with a few funny fliers.
“My wife says I’m getting weird,” Kimball typed on sheets of paper, which he then taped to telephone poles around the Bernal Heights neighborhood. “She says I need to make friends. So I’m making pancakes.” He provided an address, a time and other details, and added: “Come by and say hi and have some pancakes with me.”

Want to make more friends? Make bacon.

So, where’s the Polish boarder?

If I lived in San Francisco out of necessity, I would be reluctant to make friends with the locals, and also reluctant to eat their pancakes. He is probably breaking a local ordinance. Oh, well, I wish him the best.

Neighbors don't complain about the noise when they are invited too.
Prop. 65 states chocolate chips may cause cancer in the state of Kalifornia. other states they're a-okay though.

I wish him all the best.
It just might work, too
I think that is an excellent idea. I still recall Block Parties in the neighborhood where I grew up. It gives you a chance, an excuse even, to meet other people.
I hope nobody crashes his party or if so, they don’t ruin the spirit. I was Pay-Walled off the article, but I saw nothing about him charging money for the hotcakes. He may want to accept donations either vis a vi or online if he knows how to set that up. I think many folks would contribute or even bring their own supplies next time.
I love pancakes. They’re a great excuse for drinking the syrup.
