The War Against Humanity
American Thinker ^ | 13 Feb, 2022 | Anthony J. DeBlasi

Virgil famously remarked, well over 2,000 years ago: “The descent to hell is easy.”

The aura of truth in that phrase persists to this day, as the latest generations of humanity continue to travel down that path. It is hard to believe that after millennia of human endeavor the direction of progress for humanity remains downward.

I am neither the first nor the last to think that politics is often the reason for this anomaly – that, for example, the notion of “common ground” in politics is always true and successful “negotiation” is always possible, something that human life does not support. I claim no special talent of insight but, looking through the fog of politics, thicker today than ever, it has become plain to me – and I’ve tried to make it plain to others – that the division in this country that has been sacking and often threatening our existence as a freedom-loving people is not between Democrats and Republicans, not between “liberals” and “conservatives,” not between “the haves” and “the have-nots.” It is not a partisan line in the sand between opponents that could be brushed away with a mutually satisfactory agreement but an ideological fault line in the bedrock of society.

On one side of the great divide in America are those who believe in standards of human value and action that transcend politics, applying principles that are independent of time and generation – the stand taken to heart by the founders of this country. On this side are people drawn to the freer atmosphere that prevails in that healthier human environment. On the other side of the divide, in ascendance over the past century and accelerating, are those who believe in standards of human value and action that are totally dependent upon “the times” –

The lust for power is not satisfied until it is wielded to harm other people.

The UN goals for reducing abject poverty by 50% was achieved in 2015, 5 years ahead of the 2020 goal.

But the Green War on Energy has turned that rising tide. It is pushing more people into Energy Poverty. And, the restriction on Fossil Fuel Fertilizer is pushing 1/2 Billion into FAMINE.

And what is the tradition that battles against the dynamic of governmental overeach, and a descent into the hell of an intolerant, tyrannical civilization? It is here, and even today as the Freedom Convoy of Canada is under attack, the very principles of Civil Dosobedience flourish. And the outcome? It will be Victory for the oppressed, and the only other variable is time, how long it will take.

Fear Not. Just be prepared to stand up and being about the freedom whichi the human heart requires as a necessity of life itself.

Civil Disobedience , where did the tradition begin? Few people know the connection between Henry David Thoreau of “Walden” fame. , And Mohandus Ghandi, Early in his life, Ghandi spent two years studying at Harvard. He later earned a law degree and then practiced law in South Africa, abhorred by apartheid, Ghandi returned to india and statrted a movement of Satyagraha aginst the British Colonial Power of the East India Company. It was a movement based on Hindu tradition of peaceful political action and also on Thoreau’s ideas which Gandhi had learned in Thoreau’s Variorum on Civil Disobedience. Later Martin Lurther King also designed his Freedom Marches around Gandhi’s Satayagraha Movement. Chogyam Trungpa Rimpoche held Gandhi in the highest reverence, And of course in later days Nelson Mandela followed the same principles of Civil Disobedience , ending the very Apartheid that had so abhorreed Gandhi in his youth.

The Freedom Convoy is a Legitimate Movement of Civil Disobedience , based on an Honorable tradition, you can read Thoreau’s Variorum or Essay here:

That statement is proof that this guy doesn’t know and understand what politics is.

When you strip it down to its essence, politics is all about your perceived self interest at a large scale. It’s joining forces with other people with similar interest to achieve in a group that which you could not do by yourself.

Politics transcends everything... because self interest trumps everything. Every decision, every action you take you do so because you BELIEVE it will lead to your greater happiness, that is, it better satisfies your personal interest.

Now it may end up that your BELIEF that drives your actions ptoves to be wrong, but it is still the thing that drives you.
