The great Democrat COVID pivot is approaching
American Thinker ^ | 12 Feb, 2022 | Gordon Wysong

How will the Democrats reverse course on COVID in time not to get routed in the midterms? Here are a few possibilities.

Having watched the COVID Propaganda Theater for two years, one would conclude that the Democrats have the answers but cannot reveal them, under threat of Double-Secret Probation or worse. They exude confidence in error-prone spokesmen and charlatans, knowing that sustaining a lie is easy when you control all the levers of communication. Notice, though, that a few (very few) courageous outliers are still circulating, and they are winning converts by the bucketful. Thus, hostility to restrictions is building across all demographics.

SNIP

It is time to change course! The Democrats and their strategists may realize it, so they need a narrative that can do that.

The trick is to figure out a credible reversal that could bolster Democrats in the next nine months and prevent a bloodbath election season for them. Many Democrat incumbents haven't a clue about how this happens. As it dawns on them, some are now choosing to "retire" before they are shamed by a loss.

So how will the Democrats reverse course (pivot), using only their electoral guile to stem the hemorrhage? Eventually, the questions they cannot answer to justify their actions must be addressed. Certainly, any Republican candidate worth his salt will be asking them in commercials and press conferences.

In order to thwart this attack, Democrats will be running to the head of the parade and claiming they are leading it. How can they do that with a straight face? Not so hard when lying is your stock in trade.

And what will it look like when they do this?

6. Democrats Have Developed Therapeutic Approaches

This is what I think they will do. They will claim to have discovered HCQ and Ivermectin.

You can’t fix stupid so anything they do is irrelevant. It’s the voters that are the problem.

I don’t think it’s that big a challenge for them right now. In their home-territory blue states they have such zombie majorities that they can simultaneously placate at least the jabbed by easing up on masks for the jabs (if not everyone, for now), but continuing to enforce jab-pass apartheid.

You’re seeing employers do that as well: big employers like JPMorganChase and Walmart are letting the jabbed only stop wearing masks. Also, even with masks coming down, blue states are enforcing their jab passes.

The for them will be holding off on forcing many boosters or upping the requirements for jab passes until after the elections, which of course is also conveniently when flu season will return.

Meanwhile, you can see the opposition misinterpreting this seasonal and periodic apparent scale-back as a victory—and easing up on their opposition to it all.

No big deal.

Just as Winston and his fellows at the Ministry of Truth had to rewrite history to say Oceania had been at war with Eurasia instead of East Asia all along, Brandon’s goons have months to rewrite covid history and censor the dissenters.

” They will claim to have discovered HCQ and Ivermectin. ”

I respectfully disagree.

I think they will rename these and use their “updated versions” of them in their pricey new therapeutics.

Good point - for all the talk about ending restrictions, has nobody realized that the “vaccine” mandates are still standing for those already hit by them in most places?

NYC is firing city workers who won’t get the hot shots as we speak, and I’ve heard of no relaxation of the Biden law impacting healthcare workers. THIS ISN’T OVER - AT ALL.

True. We do vote them in. But who votes _for_ that? They run first as “moderates” and then they turn after the oath to do their damage.

From Democrat to Socialist or Republican to RINO/Assistant Democrat.

From “I’ll be your servant. I’ll never take Trump’s vaccine or force a mandate on the people” to “Wear yer maks and take yer jabs or da lockdowns continue.”

After they drop COVID, what are they going to do with all of the DA’s who refuse to put people in jail? Seems like there is a lot of baggage on the dem mule train.

“You can’t fix stupid so anything they do is irrelevant. It’s the voters that are the problem.”

Oh boy how true that statement is.

The same zombie dem voters will turn out (and the usual graveyard vote) in Nov. I don’t see any great “Red Wave” coming.

Yeah, people complain about the prices of things, grumble and moan ... but in the end virtually all vote the same way they always have. Turnout is the only real factor, and with mail-in-balloting still in effect, the cheat is in.

I don’t think they will do that but I wish they would. Those drugs of the solution to this problem. Trump wasn’t a good-enough politician and leader to get them established early on and he would have solved the pandemic and he’d still be president right now. So he couldn’t do it so hopefully somebody does it because ultimately those drugs are the solution that will save lives and end this nightmare.

Trumps big mistake was talking about bleach, which gave the media a big IN to “twist” what he was meaning.

…election losses that will be staggering, and possibly doing long-term or permanent damage to the entire party.

Covid is only one factor in this. The story that’s being missed is that there is a great shift happening with the parties, as blue collar, labor, and African Americans move increasingly to the Republican Party.

Oppressive Covid policies, demonization of un-vaxxed people (a huge proportion of whom are black), the scab-picking over race, the constant siloing of people by category, inflation, unprotected borders, the promotion of mental illness over the rights of others. All of these hit working Americans more than the elite, and the Democrat party is losing their traditional base by the droves.

Reversing Covid oppression represents a bit of an awakening on the left, but it’s not going to be enough. If the current trends continue, the Democrat Party could end up in the wilderness for a very long time.

The question is: Can the Republicans capitalize on this, or will they destroy this opportunity as they have been known all too well to do…

Actually, it’s the voter counters that are the problem. We just let them get away with it.

They may pivot on restrictions or their tune but who will remember the lives damaged or destroyed and what will be done about it.

These people are monsters and need to be severely punished.

Trump couldn’t stop the DA’s from working their mischief while he was in office. And those DA’s had all “the media” behind them, then and now.

The bottom line is that “the media” won’t turn on those DA’s a moment before the current administration in Washington does. And the administration won’t do it without clearing it with “the media.”

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (1776)
“The media” is, simply, the Associated Press in particular and all the wire services in general. It takes a news Organization like FNC to stand up to the consensus which manufactures the propaganda to the effect that “the media” are public servants. They are not, they are instead “a conspiracy against the public.” Which is demonstrated by the systematic libeling of Kyle Rittenhouse - and Brett M. Kavanaugh, and . . . the name of the victims is legion.

The reason this malfeasance is possible traces back to the Warren Court, and it’s unanimous (!) erroneous misreading of the First Amendment in the New York Times Co. v. Sullivan decision in 1964. Sullivan holds that 1A modifies libel law - a holding which was completely novel in 1964. 1A refers to “the” freedom . . . of the press. But it must be understood that the framers of the unamended constitution had no intention of modifying freedom of the press as it already existed and as it was already limited by libel and pornography legislation. 9A and 10A alone were more than enough - under the interpretation of the Federalists - to keep existing freedoms in place.

The fear of the framers was that, since rights as Americans understood them were matters of Common Law, those rights were nowhere codified completely anywhere at any time - and any attempt to synthesize such in a bill of rights inside the Constitution would have the tendency to put a ceiling over our rights, not a floor under them. And the right to sue for libel exactly fits that profile - Sullivan licensed the AP et. al. to run rampant over the rights of people to the reputation their own deeds entitled them.

Well, now that you mention it that would be a viable approach for them, seeing how any mention of those therapeutics from any Republicans has been nil. Wouldn’t want to step on anybody’s toes, y’know...
