Boys and men across all regions and ethnic groups have been failing, both absolutely and relatively, for years. This is catastrophic for our country.
Men now make up only 40.5 percent of college students. Male community college enrollment declined by 14.7 percent in 2020 alone, compared with 6.8 percent for women. Median wages for men have declined since 1990 in real terms. Roughly one-third of men are either unemployed or out of the workforce. More U.S. men ages 18 to 34 are now living with their parents than with romantic partners.
More than two-thirds of manufacturing workers are men; the sector has lost more than 5 million jobs since 2000. That’s a lot of unemployed men. Not just coincidentally, “deaths of despair” — those caused by suicide, overdose and alcoholism — have surged to unprecedented levels among middle-aged men over the past 20 years.
Yes, men have long had societal advantages over women and in some ways continue to be treated favorably. But male achievement — alongside that of women — is a condition for a healthy society. And male failure begets male failure, to society’s detriment. Our media, institutions and public leadership have failed to address this crisis, framing boys and men as the problem themselves rather than as people requiring help. This needs to change. Helping boys and men succeed should be a priority for all our society’s institutions.

Those aren’t “men” They’re pu**ies. As Paulie Walnuts said on the Sopranos “men don’t make excuses”.
Capable observers both men and women, have noted this for a good 30 years or more. But the imbeciles who dominate government and media refuse to face reality. They are like Roman nobility who enjoyed their villas in the western reaches of the empire while the barbarians had already sacked Rome. Living in a serene bubble of the past that no longer existed.
What are they right about? I’ll be honest, I only skimmed the article, but a man with a trade will always be able to put food on the table. Worthless liberal arts degrees will provide nothing. College is necessary for some professions, but a skill is much more important for most men.
Looks like the colleges are getting nervous that they might lose some of that sweet student loan money once men wise up after being insulted and even legally persecuted in some cases by these same institutions.
I dunno, we are medicating these kids from an early age. They are penalized for male behavior in school. You can blame them, but they have been subjected to cruel treatment. Not just the govt to blame, terrible helicopter parenting as well.
This is true. But the imbeciles who dominate corporations and universities are at least as responsible.
WAPO is writing for Big Ed and feminist society. They toss out a stray article pretending they care about men so that they continue the gravy train of men working to the bone to build civilization for their comfort while accepting the nonstop abuse and derision handed to them in return.
Not much I can say but I’ll add my two cents. The Amish are old fashioned but it’s safe to say that they have never heard of the word “feminism”. Our Anglo culture will become increasingly Latino and a part of that culture, machismo is a big influence so maybe some of that will rub over on us. Feminists will have no kids. So they’ll be out of the picture in the next generation. Colleges are a rip off so they’ll indoctrinate less kids.

In a cucked white knight gynosociety as America, no one gives a crap because men are disposable commodities and are not vital to families, they are interchangeable as wimmin can divorce them for any reason and get cash and prizes, and men just oppress wimmin and should just be happy we can breathe in womens farts.

That isexactly whats going on. The white knight betas have no clue and instead line up to shame what they dont understand.
The colleges have known for some time that between affirmative action and open borders (for legal and illegal immigration), many white guys know there is no point to college - so they don’t go. As for their earning capabilities down the road, many also have no plans to marry/breed so they’d just be providing for themselves anyway - and a lower-paying job can do that.
In the end, the real losers are the women who won’t find spouses/fathers of children. This isn’t something coming down the road; it is here, and has been for years now.
Why would they toil away for someone else when they can provide for themselves and help their parents? Blame the legal system for this; too many young men have watched multiple generations of older men slave away for an ex-wife and children they barely see.
Make no mistake: These articles are being run now because of the impact on WOMEN, not men. This country was quite satisfied to have college classes that were 60%+ female for decades; this is only “news” because many of those educated women are reaching retirement age childless with a herd of cats and dogs.
That is an interesting analogy, and we’ve seen a much more recent example than Rome. When Britain and France were fighting over control of North America, France started out with an early lead in discovery but by the time it was settled by war 150 years later, tens of thousands of French settlers were pitted against 2 million British settlers. While France sent young men (fur traders and soldiers), Britain sent families - including many evicted by Scotland’s highland clearances in the 18th century. Few French women wanted to settle the new colony, and many of the young men didn’t want to be tied down; King Louis XIV even sponsored hundreds of women by paying passage and providing dowries as incentive for the young men to breed, but it didn’t work out as planned. The government of New France was encouraged to shun the restless young men, but still no deal.
Of course, the most recent example is the wholesale replacement of young Americans today with trafficked foreigners; the demographic change here is rapid and visible to all. For the masses of childless young American men, it means nothing; they are as indifferent as the young Canadiens of 300 years ago; they’ll still earn a living for themselves, and have little concern about the larger picture.

The “recovery” for many young men is the MGTOW mentality, and as I’ve posted when FReepers post pics of young men playing video games, they seem happy - why bother them?
They have been for a long time and the colleges are very aware of it. The colleges have been begging for male students for decades. There has been an inbalance since the 80s and it grows a little bit every year. But the schools can’t help themselves and continue to demonize their male students.
