What are they right about? I’ll be honest, I only skimmed the article, but a man with a trade will always be able to put food on the table. Worthless liberal arts degrees will provide nothing. College is necessary for some professions, but a skill is much more important for most men.
After my husband left - I had to raise 4 children by myself.
They completed high school and went to work - no college.
They all have houses, money and close connections with each other.
It can be done.
God bless
Re: College is necessary for some professions,
This is true only because of state licensing and the convenience of attending a college.
Let’s examine this:
....At one time college was not required to practice law. One “read” the law and took a bar exam.
.....Nearly all of the material needed to be a physician, engineer, nurse, dentist, physical therapist etc. changes very little from year to year. It is available in used textbooks and on the Internet. The one thing missing is inexpensive certifiable exams to prove mastery of the material.
....Obviously, labs and clinical rotations are needed for many professions...but...it shouldn’t cost a quarter of a million in tuition to get this experience. A more reasonable $25,000 should be enough.
