The states lacking, MI, TN, WA would take the total up into the 3000s. I would guess about 100 fewer dead than same day last week.

I’m still amazed at how the same number of daily deaths which led to mass hysteria and lockdowns a year ago are now met with a collective yawn.

Now if this was a GOP administration, the headlines would often be how the vaccine failed to deliver on its promises, with some liberals charging with Trump being responsible for the failure and 932,443 deaths. Everyone.
“Right now” is not Jan 26. Last year’s decline was steep, early. It’s much closer early Feb.
And last year we did not have this new issue of states not reporting.
MI and others eventually reported. 3180 dead yesterday. A little bit ominous. The downslope does not look steep at all.
We may have hit a plateau for a little while at least. But spring/summer is coming up. Even if we have to wait for it.
I suspect the MSM doesn’t quite know what to do with the information. At this point, it makes their co-workers (lib pols and esp. the Biden Admin) look bad. But without it, they and their masters lose a once useful-to-them crisis.
