A ten-year-old girl miraculously survived a ferociously cold night in a snow blizzard in Russia by clinging on to a stray dog for warmth.
Vika Z was found with frostbite hugging the 'fluffy' abandoned pet following a frantic search by police, officials and volunteers.
She had got lost half a mile from her home as she returned from school in Uglegorsk on Russia's largest island, Sakhalin, in temperatures that plunged to minus 11C, said police.

fairly often- He answers prayers often- his vocabulary isn’t limited to NO
What do you mean like Job? A Truly pious person who was very close to God throughout it all? and do you mean getting to audibly hear the voice of God speak to both ourselves and our friends? Would we say God is good? I would say a great many would be like Job when hard pressed- Even today- when Christians are really hard [pressed- they dig deep down and say along with Job, Though He slay me, yet will i trust Him”- There are a great many Christians in nations that are very oppressive- they have ocutned the cost, and they said they woudl rather die while serving him than to renounce their faith in him- they aren’t special- they are just like us- only they have terrible living conditions- and are forced to deal with it- just as we woudl be if it happened here- For now, God has blessed our nation and allowed us to have freedom of religion- but that could change, ad we’d adapt- just as man has all down through the ages- We have today the Holy Spirit guiding and teachign and refining us- it’s His job to sanctify us- and keep us- and He does- regardless of the situation-
Not long ago my son, who is 38, and I were chatting about the weather. It was about 10 degrees and I commented that it was only a 2 dog night. The light bulb appeared over his head and he said “that’s where the name comes from.” He had been a Three Dog Night fan since he was little.
“Though He slay me, yet will i trust Him”

Interesting. Pastor’s message for today was this in Job.
Here is a song with words from Job. In Russian, with CC Subtitles. Minor key.

The dog was probably glad for the warmth too.
As if we needed another example of why dogs are god’s greatest achievement.
Sakhalin...It used to be divided between USSR and Japan...
In August 1945, USSR declared war on Japan...Soviet troops captured the entire Sakhalin...
This girl lives near Sakhalin...

The stray dog, which saved the girl, probably looks like this dog...
As usual, I need to consult the Centigrade to Fahrenheit calculator.
-11 C = +12 F
The child is very slender in that photo.
She is very lucky to be alive.
Also lucky to be on Sakhalin - the humidity would have been close to 100% in a snow storm (almost the same latitude as Seattle), which definitely helps you maintain your body heat.
Yes.
I’ve been broke, drowning in medical debt for almost a decade, chronically ill, two of my five children died during the second trimester, twice watched everything I built crash and burn after I left a company, and may not be alive long enough to see my sophomore graduate from high school.
I walked through hell on Earth and God walked beside me every step of the way.
I still praise Him.
You’re faith and testimony are very moving. Thank you for posting here on FR.
You Alaskans are crazy.
Anything less than 45 degrees farenheit, and it is too cold to go outside AT ALL.
I love you and I feel for your pained life and I am in awe of your faith.
Your testimony is wonderful. I need such faith.
-11C in Russia? That’s still in the teens in Farenheit. It’s too bad she left school without a jacket. Or sweater. Or long sleeves. Or long pants or dress.
“She probably kept the dog warm and both survived.”
You know it was very fortunate that the dog discovered that little girl to keep itself warm enough to survive the night.
Woke up, had a dingo’s breakfast, went looking for a frozen scrap. Disappeared and hasn’t been seen since.
