The Matrix was a horrible film and anyone who believes in red or blue pills should take cyanide instead to take themselves out of the gene pool.

I haven’t seen the movie either— and believe me, I tried— but looking back I’m glad it made people aware of the possibility that we might face such a dilemma: the imperative to consciously choose either serenity or knowledge.

People don’t like to admit that they’ve been conned. It is humiliating. The only way to do it, and leave their egos intact, is to get them to realize for themselves.
The Socratic method is a good approach, if gently used.
Whether in the Matrix, or in the "manosphere", the essence is to bring the person to the realization that the narrative that he has assumed to be true all this time, is built on a lie.
In the manosphere, the revealed truth is that (a very large percentage of) women will not tell you what they are really attracted to. Many do not know themselves.
The manosphere says that women innately wish to procreate with men who are genetically superior (the "Alpha" males), but also have to live with the reality that there are lots of women chasing the Alphas out there, and she has low odds of hitting the jackpot, and will eventually have to "settle" for a Beta male to be her provider.

The manosphere says that you have to be an "Alpha" to pull a woman. Fair enough. The act doesn't last though. But it works if you want to pick up chicks.
The objective is to not have it be just an "act", but rather to change your behavior and mental outlook, to strive to improve yourself.
In order to successfully improve yourself, you have to understand what IS an improvement, and what is not. You need to get straight for yourself what actually accomplishes turning yourself into a strong, confident man, not so more women might like you, but because it is worth doing as an end in itself.
In ages past, young men were tutored in the arts of being a man by the older men. In these days of divorce and female-dominated schooling, it's a harder task.

The essential Red Pill lesson, as applied to male/female relations, is that if the woman sees that you are willing to let her walk over you, then you will be her carpet from that point on.
It is only when you become unwilling to become an object of contempt, that you may be successful in attracting someone worthwhile, but only as long as you CONTINUE to behave as an Alpha.
