IMPORTANT FROM WASHINGTON: Expulsion of Senator Bright, of Indiana; Combination of the Forces Opposing the Legal Tender Clause (2/6/1862)

Mr. BRIGHT left the Senate before the vote on his expulsion was announced.

Representatives VALANDIGHAM, PENDLETON and CORNING, with MORRILL, both CONKLINGS, HORTON, and a few other disappointed Republicans, held a caucus this afternoon, and agreed to comprise all their proposed amendments of the Demand Treasury Note scheme in one bill, with the view to

" but he was thwarted by those friends who damaged his cause more effectually than his most vehement opponent could have done.

Thanks. It will try your solution as soon as I get a chance. My time is not my own today. My posts for tomorrow will have the same copy and paste links as usual.

If anyone else can suggest a fix for the embedded links that won't embed, I would appreciate it.
