A Mirage F1 fighter aircraft crashed during a routine training mission Thursday afternoon around 11:00 a.m. local time. The pilot ejected and was relatively unhurt, officials said.
“Today, an ATAC Mirage F1 fighter aircraft supporting military flight training at Luke Air Force Base was destroyed when it crashed in an uninhabited area outside the base,” the Air Force said in a statement. “The pilot safely ejected and is being treated for minor injuries. My husband’s radio antenna is on a Rohn (sp?) tower and does great but no way he’d let me put a TV antenna on it. It’s one of those that has a metal base plate anchored in four feet of concrete, cranks down, and will lay down in the yard to work on. I hate that thing.

Maybe approach it differently. Offer to lease antenna space for your antenna. I’m sure you can think up a fun rate. And if you got some use from it too, you might not hate it any more, a benefit to DH.
That TV antenna will not interfere with the ham stuff at all and wouldn’t have to be way up at the top. Sounds like a fun project. Good luck.
