A newly hired high school football coach was supposed to appear for a signing ceremony Wednesday after just landing his dream job. A day later, he was dead.
The tragic story comes from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which reports that Coach Ron Frederick, just hired to lead Southmoreland High School’s varsity football team, died suddenly on Thursday of unknown causes.
Details from the Post-Gazette:
Frederick, 40, was a 1999 Southmoreland graduate and former offensive lineman. He had just interviewed for his alma mater’s vacant head coach position on Tuesday in Westmoreland County.
On Wednesday, Frederick was informed by school officials that his hiring as head coach would be made official at the next school board meeting, the Post-Gazette writes.
Also Wednesday, Frederick was expected at a small “signing ceremony” for Southmoreland senior Kory Ansell, who signed to play at California University of Pa. But Frederick didn’t show up because Frederick wasn’t feeling well, the newspaper reports. (Further details below)
Word of Frederick’s sudden death Thursday has shocked the western Pa. football community.
“When something like this happens, it just shakes you to your core,” said Dave Keefer, Southmoreland’s previous head coach and Frederick’s friend and colleague. “I’m pretty broken up.”
Added Southmoreland athletic director Dan Boring to the Post-Gazette:
“Talking to our principal, Mr. (Dan) Krofcheck, he said it best about Ron. This was his dream to be the head coach at Southmoreland. The way he portrayed himself in the interview, the way he went about things, he was just so excited and was always excited to be part of this program and district.”
Frederick leaves behind his wife, Liz, and three children, Sophia, Colin and Dylan.
Demaryius Thomas, Flo Jo, Pete Maravich, Leon Bender, Reggie Echols, Hank Gathers. All very “fit”. Two track athletes at my high school died of heart attack soon after graduating.
All pre covid..
You might want to look into that whole "reading comprehension" thing you may have heard about.
He would have to have got the clot shot for his application to be accepted. Playing Russian Roulette to get a job is not worth it.
“Rare” seems to be a code word for “Vaccine-induced.” It certainly is not supposed to be any synonym for “scarce.”
Trust me, I am totally against these Covid-19 vaccinations. They do not work, and they seem to have numerous issues with them.
The phenomenon is common enough now that one automatically suspects the vaxxine.
But yes, young and even middle-aged people die of heart issues, and they usually are sudden and the person may not even know they had heart issues at all.
I have to be honest that my first reaction and question is; Did they have a vaccine shot, and when was it?
Well let’s have it.
Did he or didn’t he?
Oh. That’s right. Trump’s out of office.
We hear a lot about the unusual amount of athlete deaths, but there are quite a few “unexpected” coach and referee deaths as well.
We would never heard about a lot of them if they hadn’t collapsed publicly.
Who made you the curator of free speech!?
Very, very likely.
“My brother dropped dead around 35 years ago, while walking on the street at age 39. Boom! he was gone.”
Just goes to show ya that the coronavirus has been around for a long time.
I used to work with a guy, in his 40’s probably, who could literally run across the Grand Canyon, who had a heart attack.
But, turns out he had a family history of circulatory problems.
My mother-in-law’s father’s family also has a history of genetic structural heart anomalies, and tended to die young.
But these are actually exceptionally rare ... until the last year or so.
Meanwhile, Israel, with probably the world’s highest vaccination rate, also has the world’s highest COVID-19 death rate.
Africa, overall probably highly un-vaccinated, has a COVID-19 death rate near zero.

It's not speculation to say there is a long term track record of pharmaceutical companies willfully, or negligently hiding deaths caused by their products.
An example, would be how pharmaceutical companies deliberately covered up the risk of suicide for children taking antidepressants.
Go back to Thalidomide, which was approved in Europe. The only reason it wasn't approved in the U.S. was because of one woman, Frances Kelsey, at the FDA, who demanded more proof of safety.
Can you see why people are cynical about these things?
DING DING DING DING, Bingo, Yahtzee, BULLSeye.
It happened to me at age 47, healthy female with no history of heart issues with me nor in my family. Went into cardiac arrest twice in the ambulance, will be forever grateful to EMTs who de-fibbed me.
Suddenly
” This was long before these Covid-19 “vaccines” were even a thing,”
Yeah, BUT Covid vaxxines are A THING now.
“ Pathetic, but not surprising given a small number of FReepers who resort to this tactic. ”
Not nearly as pathetic as when the usual suspects show up to tamp down any discussion or speculation about the dangers of the vaccines. They’re a much smaller number, but you can see them working overtime to support the narrative.
Hundreds of pro athletes falling dead? - Nothing to see here.
Story after story of children having heart attacks? - Nothing so see here.
Vaccinated people more susceptible to Omicron? - Nothing to see here.
Ivermectin saves lives? - Not enough studies to prove it
Literally dozens of studies prove it. - I don’t like those studies.
We are all aware who is pathetic.
