This is my AO, and if you happen to be in the area; I could use some propane and a pizza.

I have an outpost on the east side of 53, due north of the first junction past the entrance, at the creek. Thanx.

Is this a parody or fiction site???

I actually clicked this one.

WT actual F!??

There is no description of this tree, or what breed it is, or what it’s botanical name is.

Even worse, there is this ironic gem of seeming contradictions:

“...this breed of ancient tree has survived all sorts of environmental shifts throughout time...”

Yet...

“As the climate changes, it is likely that mortality rates in trees will increase...”

Of course!
heh

Made up nonsense about trees.
The tree huggers (commies) will use this to stop logging.

You can clear cut a forest and it grows back quickly with a “diverse” amount of plant life. My grandparents had a cabin 180 miles north of Minneapolis, Minnesota and the land next to them was clearcut back in the 1970’s. Prior you could not walk into as it was so dense. Just animal trails. Afterward I walked in the area on the roads made by the big machines and it was wide open and I thought it would take a long time to recover. The next summer you could not walk in due to the growth reaching over your head and the roads were covered over.

Nonsense.

What is this mystical strain of tree?

Oh, not a particular species but special members.

What makes this tree special among its kind that it has mystical powers?

Nothing.

Then why is this tree important if this tree is central to the survival of the forest?

Because its the “main switch” for the mycorrhizal network.

Not the most unusual thing you can find in a forest…

Interesting story, but they never say exactly which rare breed of ancient trees it is? Do these trees belong to a specific species?

THEN, 1/3rd of the way down, it switches over to Climate Change (meaning human caused Global Warming)...

No thank you!

Methuselah was impressed. He wanted to make a walking stick from one of those trees.
BTW - isn’t this supposed discovery contrary to evolution?

Moreover, the team notes that once these trees are gone, they’re gone. Their environmental models show that it’s becoming increasingly hard for trees to reach the impressive ages of existing ancient trees. Simply put, there may be no way to replace an ancient tree that takes care of a forest once they die.

This claim is mainly bullfeathers. It all depends on the timescale. Some French researchers were looking at what they thought were untouched "old growth" forests in France. They then noticed some Mediterranean plant species growing there and talked to archaeologists about the area.

Turned out the whole place had been clear cut and put to agricultural use during the Roman Empire. By the ninth or tenth century it had reverted to "old growth."

Years ago I read an article by the ex founder of Green Peace on the Amazon Jungle.

Apparently all the oxygen it produces is a zero sum gain since it it consumed by all decaying forestation on the jungle floor.

Morton Arboretum is a cool place. They have a beer tasting and food truck event we like to attend.

Sounds like this article is a bunch of mystical magical daydreaming by “climate change” hippies.

If you find a stairway that leads to nowhere, in the middle of the forest, stay away.

And don't walk in the direction of screaming Sasquatchs either.
