Dolphins owner fires back at Brian Flores: Charges are ‘false, malicious and defamatory’

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has broken his silence over the claims against him and the organization in a lawsuit filed by former coach Brian Flores.

In the suit, centered on alleged discriminatory hiring practices in the NFL, Flores also says he was offered a bonus of $100,000 per game by Ross to tank games during his tenure as coach. Flores coached the Dolphins for three seasons and went 24-25 before being fired after a 9-8 campaign in 2022.

Ross personally pushed back against Flores’ claims in a statement released late Wednesday after the Dolphins had already said they “vehemently deny any allegations of racial discrimination.”

“With regards to the allegations being made by Brian Flores, I am a man of honor and integrity and cannot let them stand without responding,” Ross said. “I take great personal exception to these malicious attacks, and the truth must be known. His allegations are false, malicious and defamatory.

Dude has never seen a playoff game.

Fans aren’t spending $300 for a team jersey that hopes to Mediocre.

His Lawsuit outlines a man gifted from God to lead men.

So, at a minimum, he has a perception problem.

I’m much more interested in what comes of the allegation that he was offered $100,000 for each loss…

It had been reported that Flores has the tweets. But… everyone knows that context doesn’t matter in court.

But in this case, the Belichek texts are pretty damning.

When will people realize that the “easy” texts mean nothing…and a phone is always better.

No…he was told he would get it if he lost. He continued a mid season win streak. I guess by the end of the season the offer was off the table. Lol.

Good. The former coach is a racist scammer. I guarantee he only got the job because of his skin color in the first place.

I'm thinking he wants an NCAA job that he can keep for life. A top program isn't going to offer that kind of opportunity.

I can easily see him at an HBCU program like Grambling or Alcorn State. He could become the next Eddie Robinson.

Damning about what?

Flores has made a compelling case that the Giants wasted his time just to meet the stupid terms of that silly "Rooney Rule."

That's hardly solid grounds for a racial discrimination lawsuit.

About the fact that it was known the guy wasn’t even being considered.

Does that prove racism? Nope.

But it begs a ton of questions that are going to make Goodell squirm. And anything that does that…is OK by me.

Right. But like I said … that hardly seems like a sound basis for legal action.

And it really says more about the Giants than it does about the NFL.

When it comes to NFL coaches I wouldn’t put any stock in their win-loss records without knowing the context of the team and their capabilities as a coach. Bill Parcells was 22-25-1 after his third year as an NFL head coach with the New York Giants.

The team went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl in his fourth year.
