Neil Young’s Long Record of Spreading Scientific Misinformation
The Daily Beast ^ | Jan. 26, 2022 | Louis Anslow

In keeping with his career-long tradition of performative activism, Neil Young demanded in a (since-deleted) open letter on his website that Spotify either remove his music or Joe Rogan’s podcast from its service—in the name of quelling COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

KEYWORDS:
This is the same Neil Young who in 2015 released an entire album, The Monsanto Years, that’s wall-to-wall songs from an anti-biotechnology point of view.

Young’s anti-GMO rhetoric helped fuel a narrative that made it easy to spread fear and distrust about COVID vaccines, most of which used novel biotechnology methods and some of which use genetic engineering.

Hope Neil Young realizes now that he is vaccinated he is a genetically modified organism

Having GMO food is evil, having GMO vaccine is great!

He’s diabetic and uses insulin which is GMO.

He was involved in Farm Aid but opposes Monsanto products which help farmers produce greater yields.

Young likes to stir the pot. That’s it. He’s just a jerk.

My favorite thing was when his “eco-friendly” car blew up on the highway and emitted all kinds of ugly stuff into Gaia’s atmosphere.

Any “artist” who objects to disconcerting free speech is a fraud. Wonder if Neil Young has any guilt for inducing dopey, confused young people to use drugs. Many are dead or have led miserable lives.

Actually his problem with Monsanto wasn’t the GMO, it was the contracts. Monsanto did some pretty crappy stuff. They got in legal trouble everywhere. And when they weren’t in trouble they went looking for trouble, like suing farmers down wind for harvesting seeds from crop that probably got cross pollinated by Monsanto crops. When Bayer bought them they paid off a billions in lawsuits.

How big was Neil Young’s audience on Spotify as compared to Joe Rogan’s?

I wish Rogan had gotten a good lawyer, departed Spotify and taken his road show to another venue - along with his MASSIVE audience.

They need him more than he needs them.

Do note that JRogan surrendered. He apologized for having the two Dr’s on to simply speak their minds. In future, he “will try harder” to BALANCE such sessions.
That is commie trash code for packing the discussion with others, so much so that nothing is presented as fact. This is the same “nuanced” demonstrations at school board meetings wherein if you object you are immediately labeled a racist by the mob and ignored thereafter.

From now on anything he tries to say about the WuhanFlu will have a disclaimer and direct everyone to a separate site that will have “correct info.”

Let me get this straight:

A GMO entertainer complains about a GMO source of food, while using GMO drugs to stay alive and then takes a GMO drug to prevent the flu?

you can’t make this sh&t up!

Maybe we need Mandatory DRUG Testing for everyone in the Entertainment Industry with severe consequences for a positive test, like NO SALES or SHOWS for 5 years after a Positive Test

How big was Neil Young’s audience on Spotify as compared to Joe Rogan’s?

I download podcasts for certain conservative opinion leaders when I heard of Joe Rogan's interviews concerning COVID. Unaware of his exclusive deal with Spotify I was getting his show periodically, I guess, from fans cross-posting portions on other services -- even going so far as using his distinctive show logo. I was simultaneously tinkering with Spotify's free music service and found that I could get the full Rogan show there. I think Rogan's chief value to Spotify is as a lead-in for their paid service. So this attack is one that Spotify is taking very seriously.

Everyone is missing the point. He’s an old fart who married that idiot Darryl Hannah a few years back. Who’s doing the thinking in that outfit, do you reckon?
