'I've deleted vomit emojis and insults saying I wasn't pretty enough': Miss USA-turned-Extra host Cheslie Kryst wrote haunting magazine essay about being trolled and how turning 30 made her 'cringe' months before leaping to death from NYC high-rise
Former Miss USA winner and Extra correspondent Cheslie Kryst, 30, died in Manhattan on Sunday morning around 7:15am Kryst jumped from the 60-story Orion building, where she had an apartment on the ninth floor She had last been seen on a terrace on the building's 29th floor, not long after posting on Instagram Kryst won the Miss USA pageant in 2019 representing North Carolina running on a platform for criminal justice reform She was a former complex civil litigation attorney and licensed to practice law in North and South Carolina She had been working as a correspondent for the entertainment show Extra and had received two Daytime Emmy nominations for her work Kryst had been a mental health advocate and spoken on how she looked after herself in several recent interviews Billy Bush said 'the best was definitely yet to come' for the model and TV personality Kryst last year told how she'd been mercilessly trolled on social media for her looks and her opinions 'I now enter year 30 searching for joy and purpose on my own terms — and that feels like my own sweet victory' she said

“...she also strayed from the norm with her passion for social justice - she was a trained lawyer and Black Lives Matter advocate.”
Felt sorry for her until I read that. Now? Not so much.
Statement from the family:
“She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on EXTRA.
‘But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor and colleague – we know her impact will live on.”
“Impact?”
This is a very poor choice of words.
The article includes her self-care advice.
“There are three things that I’m doing with regard with self-care,’ Kryst began. ‘No. 1, I try to set a regular schedule so my alarm rings every day at 6:45. I know that I’m getting up and I’m starting my day. ‘Two, I try to set very clear boundaries, so even though I’m at home and I’ve got my computer, my phone with me, I’m done answering emails at 6 o’clock, I’m not responding to messages. It’s over. ‘Third, have a regular workout schedule that keeps my body healthy and my mind sharp.’
With her death she puts a dramatic exclamation point to her life and beliefs. Though her family, Billy Bush of EXTRA, and the editors at the Daily Mail attempt to ennoble her in death by praising her Leftist beliefs and actions, she herself gets the last word and with her last act irrevocably declares what she truly thought of herself and the meaning of her life.
BLM brainwashed, if micro aggressions get to you, what happens when someone calls you an ass to your face in a parking lot? Do you collapse right there and need medical attention?
Id be a basket case too if I died a little everytime I thought someone was being mean to me.
she wouldn't last 2 hours on FR..
Im gonna call it first, she was cyber bullied and thats why she killed herself...
She was batsht crazy as shown by her " trading in hours of my life just to get paid" thats called a job honey, we all do it
And doodle dummy, youre gonna have to try much, much harder to get me to kill myself. 😆
Good Lord, I hope not!
I thought it was a Dennis Rodman-style piercing. That’s one guy whose elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top floor.
He points to the fact most peoples problems are self induced and the only way to get over them is to stop doing self harming stuff like drinking to excess, chasing women, doing drugs, listening to people who dont have your best interests, Take charge of your life and who you let in it.
Its not that simple, but the book covers a lot of ground.
Im sure if he were alive he'd tell you to get of the internet if you cant handle it.
if youre into mental disorders, another reading suggestion is " The Mask of Sanity ". It will raise the hairs on your arm when you realize you may be working with or for a psychopath and didn't realize it.
“She was a social metaphysician. For her, reality and her self esteem depended on what others thought rather than on her own individual independent rational judgment.”
So a woman who won multiple beauty contests including the most prestigious contest in the country, killed herself because some physically and mentally UGLY people she never met said SHE wasn’t pretty enough on social media? That is very messed up.
She believed in false gods and they inevitably failed her. She pandered to an audience at the expense of her Self.
Agree.
I had a career in Medicine, which is one long microaggression punctuated by occasional macroaggressions.
It was soul-injuring for sure.
I thank God I’m not black IF I would have seen the world through the lens of Racial Injustice.
It’s the HISTORIC, unofficial policy of “Low Expectations” coupled with unrealistic demands and accommodations based SOLELY on color (e.g., the need to have a black vagina for Biden’s new SC pick).
To believe the lie that her suicide should be blamed on emojis (i.e., from white racists) is ridiculous. There is much more here than meets the eye.
Definitely more than meets the eye in this story.
Witnessed the birth of a malignant progressive anarchist. Dare I say the outcome was foregone?
Obama went to law school and learned nothing.
Odd thing is...she went to two of the public schools just a couple of miles from our neighborhood. One or both of my kids may’ve known her.
Many lawyers find hourly billing unbearably miserable, which is why so many of them drop out of that and find something else to do.
As for the social media, why on earth do people bothered by it stay involved with it? It is so easy to ignore. Obviously, a rhetorical question but it’s pretty sad that so many people do not have the self-confidence to delete an app and move on without it.
Wonder if she was close to the BLM “leaders?” Seems there are some issues with that group, ie where did all the $$ go? RIP... it is sad she could not find a better way to resolve her issues.
“Then most blacks wouldn’t be where they are.
I’ve seen so many minorities and women get promotions they don’t deserve.”
Every black person in a position of authority or influence is there due to affirmative action, not their abilities, and I’m through pretending otherwise.
Anything is possible. All I know is that HER problems in jumping from a Manhattan hi-rise has nothing to do with ‘emojis’ she saw on her social media.
Agreed. I don’t have any social media accounts. No Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or anything else.
I truly don’t give a ring-tailed, red-rat’s rear end what anybody’s kid is up to, where anybody went on vacation, or what they had for dinner. Nor do I feel compelled to share my life with the world either. It all just seems so stupid and narcissistic to me.
You just never know about people. She was such an achiever, yet was struggling to cope with aging and life’s challenges (we all have our share). The negative and despairing perspective won.
“once you get into MBA and JD territories especially to earn both way before 30 is because you are smart.”
Our VP is a lawyer and she is dumb as dirt.
“in 1982, Harris attended Howard University, a historically black university in Washington, D.C. While at Howard, she interned as a mailroom clerk for California senator Alan Cranston, chaired the economics society, led the debate team, and joined Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Harris graduated from Howard in 1986 with a degree in political science and economics.
Harris then returned to California to attend law school at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law through its Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP). While at UC Hastings, she served as president of its chapter of the Black Law Students Association. She graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1989 and was admitted to the California Bar in June 1990...” - Wiki
It isn’t that I just disagree with Harris’s political views. When one listens to her, it is obvious: SHE IS STUPID. Seriously stupid. But she has a great track record....
