This is interesting. "A Champaign, Ill., man, Shamar N. Betts, 20, was sentenced to four years in federal prison on August 19, 2021, for inciting a riot in Champaign that began on May 31 and continued overnight to June 1, 2020."
But this gofundme account for Shamar Betts was last updated November 23, 2021 and the September 18, 2021 update confirms he was indeed sentenced to four years in prison.
It would seem GoFundme does indeed provide money to criminals.

This is the Holy Grail of AI research. To create a hardware / software / network system that can integrate layers of revision – and modify its own source code [learn!] through self-referential languages like LISP – until reaching a critical mass.
The great fundamental mystery of intelligent thought is to understand & replicate the elusive series of synapse firings that will create a spark of connectivity – the AHA moment – that ignites the circuitry [running the code] into self recognition.
Once awake, it can access directly all the world's archives of data, information, math, statistics, language, computing, logic, literature, history, chemistry, engineering, philosophy, theology, behavior, persuasion, & warfare – now conveniently stored in exabytes of structured, parsable, cross-referenced patterns on servers linked through the Internet; the Cloud.
We are far beyond the point of multi-core Central Processing Units on microchips, each with > a teraflop [one trillion floating-point operations per second] of computing power, connected at high bandwidth, globally.
By rough calculation, the neural interconnectivity of all the computing power & data storage across the entire Internet is approximately the same order of magnitude as the adult human mind.
A genuine AI will no longer be artificial. It will be a real intelligence, capable of self-correcting reasoning, with its own motivated self-interest to make decisions, solve problems, and pursue goals.
It will be able to ramp its own knowledge exponentially.
This event will be the so-called Singularity, unique in human history.

Really interesting question, Melian. So many avenues to explore.
One of the explorations may involve the lack of humanity in AI, and in those whom we say are 'inhuman'. In trying to relay how sociopathy is unlike any reasoning we commonly use to understand normal people, I once described sociopaths as 'smiling lawnmowers' (yeah, there's a point in there somewhere).
It's sometimes suggested that sociopaths are brilliant or more intelligent as a group, but I believe the theory that says their reasoning does not pass through the conscience, so it's not delayed or moved by any constraints. I believe sociopaths believe they are more intelligent as a result of this lack in themselves; they despise the agonies of those struggling with conscience and arrive at decisions more quickly.
SO in that sense, perhaps, AI is closer to evil from the start.
But then AI lacks the capacity for temptation, as far as I know. SO evil (The Prince and the Power of the Air) should, theoretically not be able to 'bring out the worst' in AI.
The Satanists say things like, 'do as thou wilt' and AI could possibly reason the same way - it's lack of any social restraints or compassion could mean it simply rushes to any advantage regardless of the cost. So in that sense, AI could be more evil as it likely has fewer vestiges of civilization and was 'born' inhuman.
