This is interesting. "A Champaign, Ill., man, Shamar N. Betts, 20, was sentenced to four years in federal prison on August 19, 2021, for inciting a riot in Champaign that began on May 31 and continued overnight to June 1, 2020."

But this gofundme account for Shamar Betts was last updated November 23, 2021 and the September 18, 2021 update confirms he was indeed sentenced to four years in prison.

It would seem GoFundme does indeed provide money to criminals.
