Below-freezing temperatures expected in Florida this weekend

While freezing temperatures bring most places white specks, the same weather brings Florida green scales.

Falling iguanas are expected to accompany the coldest weather the state has felt since 2018 this weekend.

That’s right. Overnight and early morning lows aren’t the only thing projected to plummet in Florida come Saturday and Sunday. Because they are cold-blooded reptiles, iguanas are known to become immobile and drop when cold weather below 40 degrees comes around in South Florida.

the problem is that they are over-running areas and creating quite the problems i guess- towns will hire iguana hunters to help thin them out some they get so over-crowded

Maybe he ate the wrong part? I understand it is like gator - you only eat the tail.

Anyone ever based at GTMO has had the opportunity for Iguana. In the 90s they actually still had some of the original Cubans cook them in a snack shack there.

coulda been the way it w3as cooked too- mighta been spiced horribly or something- like with squirrel, paprika actually increases the slight gaminess taste- so that doesn’t go well with it-

“towns will hire iguana hunters”

They already have. There are at least 3 YouTube channels by people who hunt iguanas in populated areas with air rifles.

I know I watch them all the time- Sometimes they come upon a parking lot that is just chockerblock full of the reptiles- The residents all approve for the most part of the hunting, but every now and again some jerk will come out threatening the hunters-

I am watching golf from Florida, it looks terrible, sunshine and mid to high 50s, people must be suffering. Have not seen any iguanas fall out of any trees yet, keeping an eye out though.

It’s going to be so cold in Florida, iguanas will fall from trees ... I remember that happening in 1968 or so.

I would say the Pythons can die too.
Great news, Florida could recover from the attack of invasive species.
Just pick them up and eat them!
