Men are increasingly anxious, depressed, and struggling with suicide 1 . They are dropping out of school and opting out of the workforce, instead choosing to live in a virtual world playing video games and watching porn. A masculinity crisis is on our hands.
Growing up as a boy is hard. You experience bullying at school and rejection by girls, leading to hurt and heartbreak. 1 in 3 boys grow up without a father, and for those of us lucky enough to have one, we only spend 30 minutes a week in conversation with them, compared to 44 hours we will spend in front of a screen 2 . Without the tools and guidance to navigate our painful emotional states, we resort to escape.

Perhaps the crisis isn’t the way it’s being presented.
The young men are indulging in video games where it’s still acceptable for young men to congregate without lesbian feminists to bitch at them. Porn is where they can find women who aren’t shrews.
And how can you be masculine in schools and the modern workplace when they’re all relentlessly politically correct, woke, and these places have become aggressively anti-masculine and even open hateful of men?

In reality.. grow the F up. I blame the schools and parent’s on most of this crap.
I think this gaming & porn connection is a bit overblown. I know plenty of gamers, and in our group, I’m the only single one. Most of them are married and half of them are married with children. Only 2 in the whole group are unemployed “losers” and both of them have girlfriends.
That’s not to say there aren’t gamers who are unemployed, single, porn addicts, etc. But this stereotype is not really representative of gamers in general as far as my experience.

Jesus said it best. You cannot serve two masters, you will love one and hate the other.
i agree with you- mommy is very happy to have Jr. in his room, ready to go on dates with her.
She pays for everything since he has no job. No nasty girls to take attention away.

How does this work? They live with momma forever, not ever getting a job, not becoming independent and self supporting?
Well, speaking for myself and friends in an older generation, we couldn’t wait to be on our own, and move out of the house and have our own apartments. Now, of course, we had to have jobs and be able to support ourselves to do so.
So these guys have lost any motivation to become independent adults. That’s very sad.
And back in the day, friends and I wanted to meet girls, and we got rejected, it happens. But we all get rejected in many areas of life. We apply for jobs we went and we don’t get the job. We might like a girl but we don’t get the girl. We apply to a certain college, but get rejected. We might want to buy a certain house, but someone else beat us to it, or could pay more. We all have to learn to cope with rejection of many kinds in life, not just rejection by the opposite sex.
The 60’s Hippies Movement’s “Male Chauvinist Pig” unabashedly put masculinity and manhood down followed by the 70’s up until now kicking off with shows like the Simpsons, irresistible humor, but a sinister undercurrent anti-masculine theme. (Guys are dorks, ha, ha, ha.)
The we get the anti-male, anti-baby, anti-family Women’s Movement and were off to the races.
So the Delusional Lying Left, which is in truth the spirit of antichrist, has held the upper hand in our culture war for going on 70 years. Of course there are casualties, male and female.
Anyone who wants to be a real man or a real lady has great popular-culture opposition.
The answer? Come to Jesus, forsake all this B.S., and let him give you a sound mind with the truth that defeats Satan’s lies.
Very depressing. But the shocking data seems to be from Japan. I don’t know that Japan has a big illegitimacy problem, or depression/anxiety epidemic.
