Amid growing talk of Tom Brady retiring, it’s important to look back on what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said about his marriage with Gisele Bundchen.
Back in the fall, Brady admitted that retirement was a “very difficult issue” in his marriage to the supermodel.
Naturally, Gisele would prefer for Brady to retire so he could spend more time with friends and family members.
“But that’s an issue, and it’s a very difficult issue to reconcile without just saying, ‘Hey, it’s time to retire.’ And I think there’s, you know, we’re coming to the end here too, so I don’t want to miss any of the kids’ stuff,” Brady told his co-hosts, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.
“I think my wife has, you know, held down the house for a long time now, and I think there’s things that she wants to accomplish. You know, she hasn’t worked as much in the last 10, 12 years just raising our family and kind of committing to being in a life in Boston and then moving to Florida.”
Brady, 44, is reportedly non-committal on the 2022 season and beyond.

Just a boy who refuses to put away the toys and grow up. It’s all he knows.
"Can we have your poop?"
Wow, its like you know and hate her personally. I dont know her and my early on comment is really more joking than serious, but whatever.
She was eating chocolate with her back to the field when the camera zoomed in on their box. He should retire on top, probably same for Aaron Rodgers.
Everyone gets old . What the hell does your comment imply?
That’s supposed to be his wife’s job. But women are like the US government. Once they get a little taste of power, they want more. Bottom line of the selfish woman harping at a man to quit his job. Trust me, their happiness is not centered on spending all of their time together.
“Alright, I’d let her keep working. I’d make dinner.”
Alright, I’d let her keep working. I’d manage the maid, chef and Gardner.
There’s a saying I hear occasionally... “Remember, no matter how hot she is, some guy somewhere is sick of her s-—.”
In a sense, I know the type. Anyway, if he quits I would bet a paycheck they’ll be divorced inside of two years anyway. It’s not like he’s gonna save the marriage if it quits just because she stamps her feet.
He should play on. Gladiators must not leave the arena!
If you read the article, Brady basically says that his wife has held the fort down and has not really worked doing what she likes in years. In other words, it is her turn before she gets too old to flaunt it. I tend to agree with that.
Sorry, I am old, but things like this, aging, does not insult me.
Sorry it upsets you Giselle dear.
The analysis is simple......she sees the apex of his income and wants to cash out at maximum value.
The minute Brady leaves, Gronk leaves, and the Bucs become the 7-10, just-below-average football team that they were for the previous two decades after the 2003 Super Bowl.
Slightly off topic, but the same thing will happen in the next two years with the Lightning, when Vasilevsky, Stephen Stamkos and Nikita Khrushchev (OK, it's Kucherov, but when you're a Boomer everything is the Cuban Missile Crisis) all retire.
The Rays? Anyone's guess.
Babe Ruth hit 50+ home runs only 4 times in his career (1920, 1921, 1927 and 1928).
Mileage. Some tires have tread and some are close to wearing out.

Working a full-time, somewhat challenging job at 65, I have no pity for a 42 year old millionaire on his struggle with retirement.
Most super models probably are
You don’t think that woman has anything else to contribute than her “beauty?” Professional men and women often have deals. It sounds like it’s her time to shine. She has held down the fort. Now he needs to step up. She had an UNBELIEVABLE career that she gave up. Top earning model in the universe. It’s not a small thing. And yes, it does insult me. And my name is Hildy.
I have the opposite opinion of him. He should have retired at 40 -- and probably would have been forced to retire by 40 if he had played in any other era of pro football. With the rules in place now, a QB of the 2000s is like a placekicker of the 1970s.
Hey it’s like when the Gators were winning those football and basketball championships, you know it may never happen in your lifetime again, so enjoy it.
You just basically repeated what I already said...uh Hildy, yes it is Hildy.
