Hope this vanity to General/ Chat is not too intrusive.
I love Tucker Carlson, his analysis and his bravery, to the extent he's the only Fox show I watch every night.
However, Tucker's opposition to any possible (even imagined) American military action is extreme.
Tucker is against America going to war with Russia over Ukraine. That's ok, but so is everyone, including the Biden Administration. Biden made it clear the American/ NATO reaction to a Russian invasion, would be limited to sanctions.
Yesterday, everyone but Tucker heard Biden practically invite Russia into Ukraine. But Tucker still claimed on yesterday's show that Biden wanted a war with Russia over Ukraine.
Today, he continued his parade of guests who said America wants to invade Russia, and that America will be defeated. I'm not exaggerating, his guest tonight was saying that NATO was created to prevent war, and that the Europeans will not support an invasion of Russia and we'll fail. That's crazy, no one is discussing an invasion of Russia.
Tucker NEVER acknowledges the only thing going on right now is a threatened Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Tucker and his guests keep touting Russia's "strategic interests" which justify invading Ukraine. This is supposedly because Ukraine is about to join NATO, something which is no where near happening and which is a pretext Putin is raising to justify annexing Ukraine.
Prior to this crisis, Tucker had guests claiming we wanted to invade Iran, and who said Iran would defeat the United States.
I respect Tucker's non-intervention beliefs. I accept that some elitists want endless wars. But that doesn't justify lying about a planned US war in Russia, or even in Ukraine.
It also doesn't justify echoing the old Soviet/ Russian ploy of claiming Russia has to attack other countries in "self defense", because the West is "encircling" Russia.
The only thing being done to support Ukraine is giving them weapons to defend themselves - and threatening SANCTIONS. This was also the Trump policy.
Why does Tucker oppose economic sanctions to deter military invasions in Europe? Well he doesn't exactly oppose them, he ignores them and instead argues against his strawman of a planned WWIII with Russia. No one is threatening that.
I'm sorry, but his guests on this topic are anti-American apologists for Russia.
There's an obvious counter argument, that it's a bad thing to encourage Russian military attacks in Europe. Tucker never even acknowledges that argument.
“However, Tucker’s opposition to any possible (even imagined) American military action is extreme.”
hey, just like U.S. Senator Rand Paul!
If the “world” is so concerned about this, let the “world” take care of the matter for a change ... the U.S. hass zero strategic interest in what happens to Ukraine ... the EU & UK, OTOH, do have an interest, so let THEM got to war with Russia, and THIS time they better win, because we’ve got zero interest in the U.S. bailing out America-hating countries like France and Germany ... two bailouts was enough ... Trump promised to keep us out of foreign wars once he destroyed ISIS, and he kept both promises ... Trump HATED that the Bushes and the Democrats constantly involved the U.S. in non-strategic wars, and many who voted for him voted for that reason ... me included ... SO, i have zero interest in supporting yet ANOTHER Democrat war!!!
I’m just choosing your comment to respond to because it’s representative and well put.
My whole point is that NO ONE is proposing that we or our allies fight Russia in Ukraine or anywhere else.
Tucker is creating a strawman there is no plan to fight Russia.
And in service of his obsession, he puts on anti American and pro Russian dolts who talk about us planning to “invade Russia” and who predict that even Iran would defeat us in a war.
Tucker sits there and lets them spew this silliness unchallenged.
I don’t think America should fight Russia in Ukraine. I also don’t think anyone should cheerlead Russian invasions.
An expanded Russia and a series of aggressive wars in Europe could get out of hand.
But I kind of guessed at the response. I’m a huge Tucker Carlson fan. On this topic he’s being irresponsible.
If we send troops, train up ALL people above the age of 16 who crossed the border, legally or illegaly. Send those to foreign wars FIRST.
Are you kidding? Every NeverTrump neocon on Twitter this week is demanding Ukraine join NATO. Yesterday it was Max Boot (former GWB aide), today it was David French (NRO).

Every American voter should be forced to watch it before we get into a war with Russia over Ukraine.
Our concern should be our southern border, not Ukraine’s border
Neocons love war
Their kids don’t fight them
I would like someone to explain why sanctions are appropriate
Don’t quit your day job
EXCELLENT opinion!
And I share it nearly 100%.
The fact is, Russia is, and always will be, an anti-freedom totalitarian force of nature who bullies, lies, kills, and imprisons freedom-loving people and is far, FAR from being a bastion of conservative nationalism.
Send all of our troops in Germany to roll though Poland to move into Ukraine —100,000 troops. every National guard unit in the USA to defend freedom loving people from evil Soviets. Then we attack Russia and liberate all the lands they took from Ukraine and then push for Moscow! Putin is all bluff and the Russian People will welcome us and our new ways of doing things—Gay Rights, We can make Russia a new Democratically focused nation. What could go wrong?

We have no security interest in Ukraine. Our southern border is wide open,

Some borders, like some oil pipe lines, are more equal then others: Ukraine border over the US border ; Nord Stream 2 pipeline over Keystone XL and EastMed.
Exactly. Nuclear war would be a real threat if we get into a conflict with Russia.
Wagging the dog with Russia is a terrible idea. And yes, Joe’s admin is in favor of that.
Didn’t Iraq I start with our diplomat giving a wink and nod for the invasion of Kuwait?
Don't care. I have no quarrel with the Russians, and don't give a crap about Ukraine.
SBJNE.
In my experience those with the least connection to the military are the most eager to want us to resort to war.
Wars have a habit of spinning wildly out of control. Ukraine is historically connected to Russia. It is not in NATO and NATO doesn’t want them. Russia will make sure this is a blood bath if some fools get us into a war right on their doorstep.
The term “jumped the shark” has jumped the shark by its constant misuse in incorrect situations.
