Is America Heading for a Systems Collapse?
American Greatness ^ | 19 Jan, 2022 | Victor Davis Hanson

As the 2022 midterm elections approach, who will stop our descent into collective poverty, division—and self-inflicted madness?

In modern times, as in ancient Rome, several nations have suffered a “systems collapse.” The term describes the sudden inability of once prosperous populations to continue with what had ensured the good life as they knew it.

Abruptly, the population cannot buy, or even find, once plentiful necessities. They feel their streets are unsafe. Laws go unenforced or are enforced inequitably. Everyday things stop working. The government turns from reliable to capricious if not hostile.

Consider contemporary Venezuela. By 2010, the once well-off oil-exporting country was mired in a self-created mess. Food became scarce, crime ubiquitous.

Radical socialism, nationalization, corruption, jailing opponents, and the destruction of constitutional norms were the culprits.

Between 2009 and 2016, a once relatively stable Greece nearly became a Third World country. So did Great Britain in its socialist days of the 1970s.

Joe Biden’s young presidency may already be leading the United States into a similar meltdown.

Hard Left “woke” ideology has all but obliterated the idea of a border. Millions of impoverished foreigners are entering the United States illegally—and during a pandemic without either COVID-19 tests or vaccinations.

The left thinks that a collapse will allow them to Build Back Better as Xao Bai-Dung calls it. We are still in the collapse phase with stubborm Republicans trying to stop the collapse. Pesky, stupid elephants.

If things do collapse, we need to try and “build back better” with less government, and perhaps a reduced geographic area for the Second Republic of the United States. Recovering from a collapse by building a “bigger and better” social safety net would be a huge mistake.

the system has already collapsed.

Adult Sudden Death Syndrome?

Post-Vax Spontaneous Abortions, DNAchangedTransHumans,
Wandering Autoimmune Diseases, Prions de novo, and more?

Genocide without Accountability is as much
of a collapse as can exist.

I like Victor, but he’s a longtime colleague with the likes of Henry Kissinger at the Hoover—and he somehow can’t bring himself to see or comment on the globalist depopulation and slave-making bio-digital control agendas advancing apace.

The Democrats are very much trying to destroy America.

If that isn’t obvious to anyone by now they’re a fool.

Let’s talk about “The Big Lie”. Biden got 81 million votes. The most ever by a US President.

Within just a few months, polling data showed he was already UNDWERWATER.

Now Joe Biden registers approval ratings by just a third of the voters. Did he ever really get more votes than Trump??? Where did all the Biden voters go??

It’s likely “The Big Lie” was in the manufactured, cheat by mail ballots.

The big questions is where did all the Biden voters go??? The media needs to start asking this question.

And how, exactly, are they trying to do that?

The key distinction is that 81 million votes were counted for Biden.

But he never had very many voters. The people didn’t like him or Harris. But someone manufactured a lot of votes, and here we are.

It isn’t a collapse. It’s a planned and coordinated shutdown of individual rights. A control freak’s dream.

"...Recovering from a collapse by building a “bigger and better” social safety net would be a huge mistake..."

I have thought all along that was their plan.

In other words, what we are seeing now is "a feature, not a bug".

Not likely (IMHO).

As a constitutional conservative who proceeds as if of a matter of faith from the postulate that humans are flawed, I believe that our representative democracy is not particularly good at choosing the right path but is capable in time of recognizing that we are on the wrong path and changing course.

But one cannot recognize the wrong path if the media deprives us of the relevant information nor we cannot alter course if we are denied the freedom of speech to generate a consensus to change course and, finally, we cannot change course if we have not the rule of law that protects this recovery process.

If we have these basic fundamentals in place we can overcome Biden, Pelosi and the rest and save our culture, our economy and our Constitution but if we have not these fundamentals there is nothing short of rebellion which is likely to descend into terrorism.

You are seriously mistaken.

The left has risen as far as they have because of insufficient government, not because of too much.

The idea that these people could have been reined in by some kind of libertarian paradise is ridiculous.

No government hemmed in by civil liberties and laissez faire economics has ever defeated a bolshevik insurgency.

Given the situation in June and July 2020, with mobs rampaging and burning cities, given the situation today when beautiful young girls in LA and NY are randomly murdered by savages released by police, do you seriously think the way to "buld back better" is to have a weaker government?

How much weaker do you want it to be?

Where did all the Biden voters go?? Seriously, they didn’t go anywhere. They are STILL in the cemeteries. Some may think I’m just making this crap up, but I have seen the power of the cemetery vote. Not on a national scale, (which would be one hell of a trick to pull off) but most assuredly local elections. Tell me why Democrats are so against scrubbing voter roles. Because they have a ready pool of voters to use as needed. YES, Democrats CHEAT. Now go Fix It.
