If things do collapse, we need to try and “build back better” with less government, and perhaps a reduced geographic area for the Second Republic of the United States. Recovering from a collapse by building a “bigger and better” social safety net would be a huge mistake.

I have thought all along that was their plan.

In other words, what we are seeing now is "a feature, not a bug".

As a constitutional conservative who proceeds as if of a matter of faith from the postulate that humans are flawed, I believe that our representative democracy is not particularly good at choosing the right path but is capable in time of recognizing that we are on the wrong path and changing course.

But one cannot recognize the wrong path if the media deprives us of the relevant information nor we cannot alter course if we are denied the freedom of speech to generate a consensus to change course and, finally, we cannot change course if we have not the rule of law that protects this recovery process.

If we have these basic fundamentals in place we can overcome Biden, Pelosi and the rest and save our culture, our economy and our Constitution but if we have not these fundamentals there is nothing short of rebellion which is likely to descend into terrorism.

You are seriously mistaken.

The left has risen as far as they have because of insufficient government, not because of too much.

The idea that these people could have been reined in by some kind of libertarian paradise is ridiculous.

No government hemmed in by civil liberties and laissez faire economics has ever defeated a bolshevik insurgency.

Given the situation in June and July 2020, with mobs rampaging and burning cities, given the situation today when beautiful young girls in LA and NY are randomly murdered by savages released by police, do you seriously think the way to "buld back better" is to have a weaker government?

How much weaker do you want it to be?

I think that’s what Trump and the patriots have in mind. I doubt you will ever see the federal buildings full of bureaucratic workers again. The govt will be much smaller. Thank God. Most govt will be pushed back to the states where its supposed to be.
