Please prayer for my PTSD dog's upcoming tests for his osteosarcoma
OMG, I am so sorry.
19 years or 4 years, all of it still feels so unfair.
:’(
I will pray for your dog, and for you.
He’s in no pain at all.
I can barely contain him as the vet said to do.
He is a wimp about pain and not even a little stoic.
He stepped on a hard toy an hour ago and you’d have thought the world was ending.
If he was hurting, he’d let me know in all his glorious Shatner-esque scenery chewing.
Thank you so much.
Really needing it.
Prayers for you and your pup đ
Will pray.
Donât get too wound up about what people say, you asked for prayers, not advice.
So...thatâs my advice. lol.
Iâve been in your position several times. You do what you can do, but then you have to let God take over. Iâll pray for healing for your pup and strength for you.
If Hrafi’s still going 90-to-nothing, he may well have some years left in him. As a fellow animal/dog lover, we watched Rhubarb slowly deteriorate due to the fact that our vet must have gotten their DVM by mail-order, and it was too late before someone competent made the correct call, so don’t hang it up on him yet. I’ll point you to the curious case of one Mr. Wilko Johnson. Guitarist for the 70’s British pub/punk band Dr. Feelgood, later a member of Ian Dury’s Blockheads. He was diagnosed about ten years ago with a pancreatic tumor the size of an NFL football. He still toured, but he said his guitar started sitting on the tumor like he was pregnant. He reconciled himself with his fate; they said the tumor had intertwined with his circulatory system in several other organs, and it was terminal. Then along came a friend, who was an M.D. and specialist, and said it was a slow-growth type of cancer and he could remove it. Highly risky, but as Johnson said, die on the table, or die in bed six months later on a morphine drip? He let his friend operate. Ten years on, he’s recorded a couple more albums (including a great one with The Who’s Roger Daltey called ‘Going Back Home’, a collection of old Feelgood and solo tunes), still plays festivals in Jolly Olde England, and he’s cancer-free. Food for thought. Like Frank Zappa said, you don’t cure dandruff with decapitation. See what the dog doctors have to say first.
It sure was not what I was expecting.
I know all the grim facts and I’ve been that horrific rodeo before so I know when it’s “too much”.
But the dog has a great fighting chance, if only I can give it to him.
He’s not even 5, wanting to run like a maniac so badly I have to brace myself against the house while I have him outside on a leash and he has no idea anything is even a little off.
I think I’ll go cry a while now and try to sleep some.
That is my intention.
This hospital is very good and everyone gets referred there.
He gets every chance I can give.
And I do have a care credit card, but it’s very small because our credit sucks thanks to the Dems destroying our home business in the early 2000s.
It never recovered and I never had to beg for help, back then.
But Obama happened and that was it.
:(
Things always look better in the morning. Sleep gives us a chance to process what has happened, and we awake with new strength, new thoughts and new ideas.
Ok, just be aware that osteosarcoma is one of the most painful cancers out there for canines, so keep a close eye on him.
You are blessed to have such a good friend. I am praying for both of you.
I am horribly aware of all of it.
Too much so which is why we’re trying to get ahead of it all fast.
I’ve not been sleeping much.
Or eating.
I feel like I have no skin.
:(
I do not deserve him.
He is the best.
Thank you so much for the prayers.
I felt rather undeserving of such a kindness and asked God why He did it and He gave me this verse.
Psalm 36:6 Â Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Praying for both you and your beastie bestie.
I join you in that prayer for Hrafi and also for YOU that you are comforted, encouraged, strengthened and kept safe on the trip and back. Take care of yourself so you can be there with everything you got as you travel down this all-to-familiar road and so that you can make the best decisions about your baby’s care. I am so sorry you have to go through this again. You WILL survive! The Lord will be there with you and give you the grace to endure.
I had a diagnosis with one of mine for a few months, he went two years with treatment, delightfully happy until the day he passed suddenly. Some get cured, so keep the faith.
Will pray.
I know the pain and anguish that comes from losing a dog so I will pray for your four legged friend. But I will say this. If worse comes to worst the easy way out for a lot of people would be to just âput it downâ and get on with your life. But you can do better. Clinical trials are conducted all the time for dog cancer therapy just like they are for humans. You could enroll your dog in one of these trials. Your dog may or may not benefit but the data gathered from these trials will benefit dogs as a whole in creating new treatments and therapies. And you can take comfort in that. Google âdog cancer clinical trialsâ to see if there are any in your area or ask your vet about it.
