Two longtime House Democrats announce retirements as party squirms over 2022 (28 so far)

Two longtime House Democrats announced that they will retire from Congress at the end of their terms rather than seek reelection in 2022, adding to a growing number of Democrats who are leaving Congress as anxiety grows about Republicans winning back the House in 2022.

Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Doyle, 68, and North Carolina Rep. David Price, 81, made retirement announcements on Monday.

Doyle is the longest-serving member of Pennsylvania’s current congressional delegation, having first been elected to Congress in 1994, and was also a longtime coach for the Democrats in their annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity.

“I believe the time has come to pass the torch to the next generation,” Doyle said in a press conference, adding that he believed he could be reelected in 2022 if he ran again. He said the coronavirus pandemic made him and his wife accelerate their retirement plans.

My guess is there will 8-10 more. As the primaries get closer, that number could even higher.

Pelosi will retire after the election, because the Republicans will brutalized her.

There are a lot of retirements, but I'm not sure how many of these are swing districts... or even D leaning districts.

Longtime D members jumping ship is an indicator they don't think things will go well, but it doesn't tell me how many of these seats are flippable.

Wonder why so many? Wonder why the wall around the WH? Do they know something we don’t about this whole plandemic/election affair? Perhaps when that “something” is finally revealed, with facts to back it up, to the general public, there’s gonna be huge outright uprising with some potential public hangings over it?
IF so, I’ll say this to all of em: You communist bassturds can run, but you can’t hide.

But as all sailors know, a sinking ship can suck you down with it…

40 would be in Paul Ryano territory when he threw the '18 election.

I think 44 house Republicans decided not to run for reelection in 2018.

“Pelosi will retire after the election, because the Republicans will brutalized her.”

She might retire before the election frankly, for that very reason...

Though, that would take something most normal people possess within them, that I’m not sure Nancy has.

Bag of bones with a drinking problem is what she is.

rats deserting the sinking ship ... literally ...

it’s pretty obvious that internal polling by the Dems is showing a disaster of epic proportions for the party in nine months ...

The Rats can see the hand writing on the wall. Once the House is turned, and the Senate as well, the shoe will be on the other foot. The jeopardy that this puts these rogues in is simply too much for them. They are genuinely frightened. They see Poll Numbers that the Public is not privy to.

They will hole up in some cave and wait for the bloodshed to subside.

It is going to be ugly for the Rats.

I would love to see Marjorie Taylor Green made Speaker. That woman is awesome. The Media claims that she is ‘far right.’ I think that she is a moderate myself, not Right enough.

“...longtime coach for the Democrats in their annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity” — that’s quite the distinguished 28 year career in Congress.
