According to court documents, on May 28, 2020, Montez Terriel Lee, 26, along with others, broke into the Max It Pawn Shop on East Lake Street in Minneapolis. Surveillance video footage showed Lee pouring a fire accelerant around the pawn shop and lighting the accelerant on fire. The fire destroyed the building. A second video showed Lee standing in front of the burning pawn shop and Lee could be heard saying, “[expletive] this place. We’re gonna burn this [expletive] down.”

In handing down the sentence, Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright granted a variance from sentencing guidance which outlined a 235- to 240-month sentence.“You are more than the person who celebrated your actions on social media as if there was anything worth celebrating. You are more than the person that destroyed that business by fire,” Wright said. “You are more than the person who set that fire that killed a man.”

A charge one can expect to receive if someone dies in the wake of a violent felony you commit.
You had no idea you were even endangering someone’s life or welfare. Nevertheless, your violent and illegal act or acts led to the death of another. So, you are looking at a murder charge. Shouldn’t oughta done what you did!

Oscar Lee Stewart Jr. is the victim. His remains were not found for about 2 months after the fire when they were cleaning up. I guess he wasn't really a sympathetic victim since he was almost certainly in the process of looting when he burned to death. You'll never hear someone shout "say his name". Doesn't fit the narrative. Now, if they could have blamed the fire on the cops, he would be a martyr.

Curiously, a combat veteran named Oscar Stewart helped thwart a synagogue attack out west a while back.
That synagogue was in San Diego. 2019. Hope it isn’t the same Oscar Stewart.
