They got fast.
They go far.
But not both at the same time.

Some of these are true suicide machines, way too much torque from a dead stop for me to trust myself.
And I’m too old to add another layer to the road rash!

Cool bikes.
But forget about that nonsense out “sustainability” and “harmful emissions”.
That just misinformation. CO2 is a vital trace gas and all living things on Earth would do well with a bit more of it.

Get the thrill of speed with the visceral sound of a blender. I think I’d rather go with a Janus.

Wow, some of these are simply awesome. Evoke 6061 charged to 80% in 15 minutes and 142 mph top speed with a 292 mile range at a cost is 24K.
For me, dependability then cost then charge time and range would be the order of top priorities.
I guess they’ve not been on the market long enough to talk dependability/reliability and availability of service. Only one bike even mentions maintenance.

A lot of these cost as much as a car. I bought my slightly-used Mercedes diesel for less than many of these. Highway, 40 mph, 800+ mile range. Lap o’ luxury. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. I’ll take my diesel over these overgrown scooters.

Why?
The sound of the power is half of the reason to ride!
It also lets cars know you're coming through their blind spot.
Bikes go where there are very few charging stations, and I know what to listen for to anticipate engine issues before they become serious.

My current ride is a Triumph Tiger Explorer. 140hp w/600 pounds weight. It's a fine bike and gets 40 mpg.
An electric bike might be a novelty but that technology has got to come a long way before it's practical. I ride often in the middle of nowhere. Few gas stations. I've yet to see a charging station.
Get back to me when they develop the bike with a solar panel the size of a cell phone and only needs fifteen minutes of daylight to charge the Harley Live Wire.

This antique yamaha I have has a 250 mile range, but I only get 100 miles on a full tank riding Angeles Crest to Newcombs Ranch and back, and it takes 5 minutes to refill. Oh it also does 150 plus
I actually have 2 of them

I still cannot see why these chunks of crap cost so much verses a regular engine. Is it the batteries in them?
