I always liked L.A. Confidential, but not sure this is the kind of Film Noir example you are looking for.
Of the older ones...The Third Man was one I enjoyed. The Maltese Falcon and Sunset Boulevard too. I made a point of watching “Gaslighting”.

I’ll suggest “The Third Man”.
Orson Wells, Tom Cotton in B&W. Several great and timeless quotes. Haunting zither music.
My favorite film noir.

What the American film industry labels as "Film Noir" is a bunch of dreary B&W "B" films (or even "C") that they otherwise couldn't have got audiences to buy tickets to, so they stuck
"FILM NOIR!" on the marquee to make Joe Sixpack feel like he's doing something sophisticated when he goes to see it.
Nino Frank would not have approved.

I recommend “The Scarlet Claw” I think 1940, or 1941 with Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes.

While not noir, Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston. Pls add to ping list. Thank you, Norski.

Quite fond of “The Thin Man” movies; and,
Ellery Queen. “Shadow of a Doubt” with Joseph
Cotton and Teresa Wright is also very good.
Please, count me in.
