Harry wants to have police protection rather than private security when he and his family are in the UK because they do not feel it is safe here, and in a statement by a legal representative he said he was prepared to pay for it.
Harry is arguing his private protection team in the US does not have adequate jurisdiction abroad or access to UK intelligence information which is needed keep the Sussex family safe.
“The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in,” the legal representative for the duke said in a statement to the PA news agency. “With the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk.” The representative added: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the UK.
“In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

IF he is willing to pay ALL costs then I could see a point. He probably would be a high profile target given the hatred for him and his wife in the UK.
However, somehow..I doubt he would pay for all costs.

I believe it is true (Brits please correct me) that HMQ has certain rights over the persons of those who could succeed her.
This includes (at least for now) Archie and Lilibet, and it’s the reason Prince Markle Sparkle and the Mrs. cannot run the risk of transporting them to the UK.

Queen has no control over her succeeds her.
Succession is a matter of Parliamentary law, which I believe you know.
Or, you know, he could start supporting the right to self defense for folks without security detachments?
Couldn’t it be argued that since all the seats are the same on a private jet, that it’s ecologically friendly and could be considered coach?
I think the queen will end up footing the bill for Andrew. She has a few children and many more grandchildren. I’d be curious if she changes her will over the next few months. If she’s clever and a loving mother, she’ll make sure Andrew always has a level of protection, if not income to his preferred level, but she might cut back a bit on inherited money he can play with.
Charles and William will probably more control what happens with Harry’s inheritance. My hope is that they eventually get Harry’s line out of the line of succession. Nothing would be more stupid than letting the kids who are being raised American suddenly rule UK. And with William insisting on the family flying together, they really need to stay aware of the succession.
Doesn’t this make great fodder for Harry’s new book and Meghan’s arguments on why she’s qualified to be president of the US rather than queen of England?
