Gene that more than DOUBLES the risk of becoming severely ill with Covid is discovered by scientists... and around 10% of Brits have it

Scientists have discovered a gene that more than doubles the risk of becoming severely ill with Covid.

Researchers from the Medical University of Bialystok in Poland found that the gene is the fourth most important factor determining how seriously a person suffers from Covid, after age, weight and gender.

The gene is present in around 14 per cent of the Polish population, compared to 8-9 per cent in Europe as a whole and 27 per cent in India, they say.

Its discovery could help doctors identify those who are most at risk from the disease and prioritise them for vaccinations.

Poland and several other countries in central and eastern Europe are battling their latest surges of coronavirus cases and deaths while continuing to record much lower vaccinations rates than in western Europe.

In this study, we applied this approach to identify rs17713054 as a probable causative variant and LZTFL1 as a candidate effector gene in pulmonary epithelial cells as contributing to the strong COVID-19 association at the 3p21.31 locus, with EMT identified as a relevant infection response pathway.

The rs17713054 risk allele generates a CCAAT/enhancer binding protein beta motif

Just vaxxing?

Q: Why wouldn’t it prioritize them for prophylaxis and/or early treatment in the event of exposure?

A: Because CoupFlu has NEVER been about public health. Anywhere on the bloody planet.

here is what i can say about looking at genes...they are important to try to help diagnose. A lot is unknown. I have variants that have never been seen before and are called Variants of Unknown significance. In 100 years they may decide they are pathogenic.

i have some blood work pointing to a certain disease. i have symptoms of that disease. Doctors are ignoring it because it hasn’t gotten to the point where it has destroyed my liver. My genes say I have 3 times the risk for this disease.

I dont give a damn what the Doctors say..I am going to procede as if it is brewing and just hasnt destroyed my liver yet.

“Its discovery could help doctors identify those who are most at risk from the disease and prioritise them for vaccinations.”

Prioritize them for vaccinations? The shots don’t work. How about prioritizing them for treatment?

Chances of getting seriously ill going from 0.0015
to at lease 0.0025! Maybe even 0.0026!

“Its discovery could help doctors identify those who are most at risk from the disease and prioritise them for vaccinations....”

All Brits use an “s” where a “z” is required.
