I found this and could not stop watching.

This sailor shipbuilder has been working to restore a 1910 Caff Cutter for 2 plus years now and is still going.

Engine install, but lots more to go.

Incredible planning and craftsmanship.

If you like boat building check out SV seeker. The guy built a 70 foot steel junk in his front yard. He is waiting to get insurance to splash it in Tulsa.

Looking at how much of the wood is rotted, I’m wondering if the “restoration” is really building a new boat which looks like the old one.

How much of the original wood will remain when they’re done?

Thanks for posting. I have a ‘79 Seafarer 30 on the dry and don’t have enough time or disposable $’s to throw at her.
Need motivation (and disposable $’s!)

This is a great YouTube Vlog to follow. If you have not watch them all, I suggest starting at the first one. There are a few other boat restoration blogs out there also.

If you are into sailing, there are some very good Vlogs with great scenery of the areas they visit.

In general, I find there are many great Vlogs on YouTube. I spend more time watching YouTube then standard TV shows.

I have been watching Leo weekly since he went to Georgia to get the Live Oak planking for the boat.

My BIL is a retired finish carpenter and watches Episodes when he visits. We watch other boat building channels and often comment to each other that the way they are doing it isn’t how Leo would do it.

The methods and techniques used to build Tally HO are fascinating. I also like the way he takes the time to explain why things are done a certain way and what their function is in the overall design of the boat.

Have not seen his girlfriend in many months. Enjoyed it when she showed up.

Correction to #21. The Live Oak was used for the boat frames not the planking.

My brother in law and a friend of his repaired a speedboat by sealing a split in the bow. They took the boat out to lake Minnetonka and the seam split open and the boat sank. The two were rescued. I am not sure the boat is still on the bottom.
