"Kids reportedly have no difficulty with the train problem, but adults aren't faring so well. The puzzle was designed for the fresh eyes of 6 and 7 year olds, so maybe all of us grownups are just overcomplicating things!
"Check out the problem below, and let us know if you were able to solve it!"
There were some people on a train. 19 people get off the train at the first stop. 17 people get on the train. Now there are 63 people on the train. How many people were on the train to begin with?

Grant???
How many animals did Moses take on the ark?
The answer is 42. Always.
Gone for a while to calculate in the shower.
Ditto, but I have gotten into the habit of always telling the cashier how much I am handing them and how much the change will be. They still give me puzzled expressions, but it usually saves time over having to correct them afterwards when they hand back incorrect change.
Keep your hands off my testes!

How many know where is Grant’s tomb without cheating?
It is simple accounting. Just keep track of the debits and credits.
The conventional way is to say that after the stop in question, 2 less people were on board than before that stop, so adding 2 to the 63 still on board would yield 65.
However, what exactly is meant by “to begin with?” (and let’s not forget that this “brilliant” question ended with a preposition - a BIG no-no). If it is a clever way of trying to trick people into a quick and simple answer (65), and was really aiming at reason- and experience-based logic, then the answer would have to be 0, since no one lives on a train.
Stupid problem, either way.
This is pathetic.
Libs cannot figure it out because they get hung up on figuring some way to label the train racist while worrying that the train is powered by fossil fuel engines rather than electric drive.
Also they are concerned that with 57 genders and 65 people on the train there is no way to ensure every gender is equally represented. Therefore train service must be halted and a commission formed to look into the problem.
Finally, libs are concerned that no-where was it specified that anyone was vaccinated nor wearing a mask, so no-one should be riding the train.
There, that about covers it, why so many "adults" have a hard time doing simple math in their heads. Their heads are too full of screwy ideas.
Depends on who was wearing a mask.
The maskless would all die and would not be able to get off the train.
The older we get, the more we tend to overthink things.
“The conductor got more than he bargained for.”
“I had seniors who couldn’t work Ohm’s Law problems.”
Was it the E (I guess some use V), I or R that tripped them up?
Good grief! But that is considered so difficult we really are in trouble.
Not if you've ever seen the vids of 'adults' being asked, "if you drive at 60MPH for one hour, how far have you traveled?"; or the gal asked whether she wants her pizza cut into 8 or 12 slices.
Who
Who cares?
Impossible to find the answer, since we don’t know how many, if any, were conceived or aborted aboard the train.
If they had to solve for anything besides E they were dead in the water.
