At least as a Lions fan, even though we only won 3 games, I think we finally have a good coach in Dan Campbell.
Weird. I didn’t even think he did that bad of a job. Not everyone can be perfect every Season.
Denny Green was a great regular Season coach, but sucked hard once the play-offs hit.
Zimmer got us closer than anyone since Grant. This was just a sucky year all around.

I’m never really sure if you should fire the coach with the GM. Firing the GM is basically saying he didn’t put together a good roster, not really the coach’s fault after that.

Jerry Glanville said the NFL stands for “Not For Long”. With most coaches, including himself, that’s correct. The Vikings are a team whose W-L record never quite matches the talent on the field.
I actually met an NFL assistant coach online during the old CompuServe days. He talked about having to pack up and move his family on a regular basis because most get their jobs through networking and have to constantly keep employed based on who they know.
Broncos fired their coach as well.
Rick Spielman spent 6 seasons with the Dolphins, was promoted twice, and all his jobs were related to evaluating and choosing player personnel.
He inherited an above average team and made the play offs twice as a Wild Card with 11-5 teams.
His W/L for his last four seasons was 32-32 with no Play Offs.
Bottom Line...
Too many teams, too many games, not enough really good players, coaches, and executives.
And the Krafts just hang on to Belichek. Go figure.
That Charger coach should be fired for that timeout he called last night.
