Right now, all eyes are on the Supreme Court as it hears arguments on the legality of President Joe Biden’s administration’s vaccine mandate for private businesses.
The Justices began hearing arguments on Friday and some of the liberal judges shared some ridiculous thoughts on what they believed were facts regarding COVID-19, The Federalist reported.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rolled out its emergency temporary standard demanding that private employers with 100 or more employees require vaccinations at the request of the Biden administration late last year. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay, however, preventing enforcement.
Challengers of the OSHA standard argued on Friday that the agency has no right to force a medical decision on workers, but several justices pushed back on this idea using false narratives about COVID-19 to justify the federal government’s vaccine mandate.
Justice Elena Kagan suggested that getting the vaccine reduces the spread of COVID-19, a dubious claim that’s contested by the rapidly rising number of breakthrough cases worldwide. Kagan’s opinion is that “this is the policy that is most geared to stopping all this.”
“There’s nothing else that will perform that function better than incentivizing people strongly to vaccinate themselves. So, you know, whatever necessary means, whatever grave means, why isn’t this necessary and grave?” the Justice said.
“We do not contest that COVID is a grave danger,” National Federation of Independent Business attorney Scott Keller responded. “But when the power for it to be necessary… an agency has to consider and explain alternatives.”
Justice Stephen Breyer also appeared to believe that being vaccinated would stop people from spreading the virus, and argued that the argument that more people would leave the workforce due to the mandates was moot because “more may quit when they discover they have to work together with unvaccinated others because that means they may get the disease.”
“And more will quit because they’ll maybe die, or maybe they will be in the hospital, or maybe they’ll be sick and have to stay home for two weeks,” he said.
He also appeared to claim that if everyone was vaccinated the pandemic would stop and no one would get the disease before saying that there were “750 million new cases yesterday,” in the United States, even though the population of the United States is around 331 million people.
And Justice Sonia Sotomayor continued with her own alternative facts.

You’re right, and that’s exactly my point. It’s just like the false sense of security you get from wearing a mask, the same mask worn all day long that a person touches all day long. So much of this is based on a false sense of feeling secure or feeling as if you’re doing something for the greater good. But then, it’s easier to feel than it is to think.
I remember you like to go on lots of cruises. Haven’t you noticed in recent weeks, lots of cruise ships are reporting COVID infection aboard despite everyone being vaxed? How can you make the statement that the vaccines “stopped me and my wife from getting infected”? You may just be lucky according to recent outbreaks. Good luck to you.
Maybe true but the Biden Admin has pursued the appeal. They are a problem every day they are in office. Tyrannical in the way they pursue working Americans.
My statement was confusing to the un-initiated, I agree.
To make it more clear, what I was trying to say is we never got symptoms.
Remember no vaccine in history can STOP infections.
Only thing a vaccine can do is create anti-bodies.
When virus is inhaled, and starts replicating, only then the vaccine comes into play by using the anti-bodies created.
Most of the time the anti-bodies will destroy the virus before symptoms appear. So it gives the false impression that vaccine stopped the infection. It did not. Infection did happen, but virus was destroyed before symptoms manifested.
Since we dine frequently in land restaurants and have done 3 cruises since the Chinese virus arrived here, I can boldly state that we feel a lot safer on a cruise ship than in land based restaurants. The safety protocols on ships now-a-days are much more stringent than in land restaurants.
Every passenger and crew on ship has to be fully vaccinated AND must show a negative covid test result done within 48 hours before boarding ship. In land restaurants, there are no such checks, at least here in Florida. I heard from my daughter in Seattle that they are now asking for vaccination document before you get served in restaurants. May be it was just the particular restaurant she was in.
If everyone was vaccinated,
then it would only be the vaccinated spreading COVID {eye roll / sarcasm}
Omicron is defeating Delta by giving us immunity to it. If you have Omicron, you don’t get Delta!
Read that Delta was 25% of the cases 2 weeks ago, 10% last week and estimated 2% of all cases by next week.
Omicron is God’s vaccine. It needs to be spread. At this point I think standing in line is worth it since it’s probably spreading Omicron. It’s a choice.
It is also easier to manipulate the populace with their feeling than it is to persuade them with logic.
I don’t even think that logic is even taught in high school anymore or is required in college.
I think that the Leftist powers prefer a population that is easily manipulated by feelings.
Consider that most movies geared to children or women will at some point have someone say “Trust your feelings”.
Trust me when I say that such advise should never be taken or even considered. Your feelings will take you down the road to ruin 99% of the time.
