Saturday, Jan. 8 All times Eastern
Kansas City at Denver 4:30 pm KC still has a shot at the Number 1 seed if the Titans lose. Well, Chiefs have to win to have that chance and the Broncos... well, a little weak on offense. Chiefs.
Dallas at Philadelphia 8:15 pm The Cowboys follow up a dominating performance against the WFT with a lackluster game against Arizona. Philly is in the postseason win or lose and the Cowboys are not getting a bye with a win. Well, superior talent will out. Cowboys.
Sunday, Jan. 9
Cincinnati at Cleveland 1:00 pm. Every time I think Cincinnati has reached a new level they turn around and disappoint. But the Browns with no Baker Mayfield and nothing to play for? Bengals.
Green Bay at Detroit. Packers are on cruise control and while the Lions have been competitive in just about every game they don't have enough on their best day to compete with Aaron and Company (although I think we'll see Jordan Love in the second half). Packers.
Chicago at Minnesota. The Vikings ... so many close calls. Now that their season is done they'll win. Vikings.
Washington at NY Giants. Two teams going nowhere... oh no, that's not really correct. The Giants are going down. The WFT.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville. Very simple for the Colts: win and they're in. And against the lowly Jags? Okay, they have somehow managed to win two games this season but.... No. Colts.
Pittsburgh at Baltimore. I cannot take the Ravens - five losses in a row ... While the Steelers have had struggles of their own they have notched some wins. They'll notch another here. Steelers.
Tennessee at Houston . The Titans need a win to keep the Number 1 seed. But they also lost to Houston earlier this season when they had a healthy Derrick Henry... Not feeling a lot of confidence here but .... Titans.
New Orleans at Atlanta 4:25 pm. For all their ups and downs and injuries and COVID the Saints still have a playoff opportunity. They'll take advantage of same. Saints.
NY Jets at Buffalo. What a season for New York football fans, between the Jets and Giants there has been precious little to enjoy. Well, at least it's over after Sunday. Bills.
San Francisco at LA Rams. Hmm hmm hmm.... Don't know what to make of this one... Niners ran all over the Rams last time they played. Stafford has been playing poorly but still winning. That should be enough this week too. Rams.
New England at Miami. The Patriots continue their domination of the Dolphins. Patriots.
Seattle at Arizona. Lots of disappointing teams this season but the Seahawks have to be at the top of that list. Cardinals.
Carolina at Tampa Bay. Well, the Antonio Brown distraction is over with, leaving the Bucs with a depleted receiver corps. But a depleted receiver corps is still enough against the Panthers. Buccaneers.
LA Chargers at Las Vegas 8:20 pm. Very simple for both teams: win and you're in. In fact, tie and you're in. Not that I think they will play for tie... I mean how do you even do that?! I have given the Chargers more chances than my ex-wife, so what's one more?! Chargers.
Good luck All!
here’s the 9-8 mega-tie which gives INDY the 7th seed.
Chargers lose to Raiders.
Indy 9-8 with 7-5 CONF record
Chargers 9-8, 6-6
Miami 9-8, 6-6
Balt 9-8, 6-6
Indy wins the 4-way tie on CONF record
More to follow .....
here’s the 9-8 tie which gives BALT the 7th seed.
Chargers lose to Raiders.
Indy 9-8 with 7-5 CONF record
Chargers 9-8, 6-6
Miami 8-9
Balt 9-8, 6-6
the only way to overcome INDY’s superior CONF record is by Head-to-Head victory
BALT is the only one of those teams that beat INDY. They also beat Chargers, giving them a “sweep” in the 3-way tie
Balt wins the tiebreaker for 7th seed !!
More to follow .....
here’s the 9-8 mega-tie for 7th seed when
Chargers beat Raiders.
Indy 9-8 with 7-5 CONF record
Raiders 9-8, 7-5
Miami 9-8, 6-6
Balt 9-8, 6-6
Again, the only way to overcome the superior CONF record of INDY & RAIDERS is by Head-to-Head victory over both.
Neither BALT nor Miami has done that.
In fact, Raiders have beaten Indy, Miami, & BALT (all 3).
So, the above is a 2-way tie:
Indy 9-8, 7-5
Raiders 9-8, 7-5
Raiders win the tiebreaker due to their victory over Indy.
NFC
PHIL beat Saints head-to-head
SF beat PHIL head-to-head
3-way tie:
PHIL 9-8, 7-5 CONF
SAINTS 9-8, 7-5
SF 9-8, 6-6
Phil is #6 due to head-to-head over Saints (really a 2-way tie)
which leaves:
SAINTS 9-8, 7-5
SF 9-8, 6-6
Saints are #7 due to Conf record better than SF
Thanks!
