There was no immediate word as to the ages of those who died. Neighbors say there were a number of children who lived inside the home.

The fire broke out around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of N. 23rd Street.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames shooting from the second story of the three-story row house.

The fire department said it took about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control. The view from the Action Cam and Chopper 6 showed multiple fire crews on the scene.

Philadelphia police say the house had been converted into two apartments.

The cause of this fire remains under investigation. It's not yet known if there were working smoke detectors in the home.

Democrat Mayor, Democrat-Run State.

But they’ll blame it on a Republican.

I once had a townhouse with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. At one point about 13 illegals moved in next door. ICE finally got rid of them.

At least the Mayor didn’t have a bomb dropped on them.

I was trying to remember who that was, because that was the first thing that came to mind.

I lived near Philadelphia when Osage avenue went up in flames. A few buddies and I drove to the perimeter of the fire. It was surreal.

Wilson Goode absolutely deserved blame for that fiasco and - dare I say - murders. Yes, MOVE wasn't beyond reproach, and I'd be peeved if they were my neighbors. That said, dropping a bomb on a row home when there are children inside and then opening fire as the house burned is beyond reproach for a municipality. And NOBODY went to jail over it!!!

Fast forward to today. Goode is a pastor and has stated on multiple occasions his regret, and has asked for forgiveness. He strikes me as a man who (rightly) carries his fateful actions as a cross.

By contrast, then-DA Fast Eddie Rendell has never said ANYTHING close to an apology or regret or anything...and that sombich has lead a charmed life: Mayor, Governor, Head of the POS, erm, DNC.

Again, MOVE is not a choirboy outfit. They certainly facilitated this tragedy. And Goode was in charge. His actions were criminal. But Rendell is lowest in my pond scum pecking order. /rant

Not far from the Art Museum and Boathouse Row. Yes, one of the nice areas in the city.

Officials say 18 people live in a 2nd-floor apartment. Another eight people lived on the first floor.

Sounds legit.
