The United Nations warns that “a hotter future is certain” and considers climate change the greatest threat modern humans have ever faced. Before he was even elected, President Biden had a plan for curbing climate change that would also encompass environmental justice, whatever that is. Globe-trotter, or should I say globe-sailor, Greta Thunberg continues to scold that world leaders have stolen her dreams and her childhood by not conforming to green standards that have not been met since the Neanderthals.
Meanwhile, Mother Nature didn’t get the memo on global warming and dropped a storm on the Fredericksburg area. More than a foot of snow fell. Approximately 400,000 people lost power. A fifty-mile stretch of the I-95 freeway became impassable with snow and ice, trapping hundreds of people in their cars overnight.
Motorists turned on their engines to warm up, then turned them off to conserve gas as they waited for the roads to clear. There were as many as four inches of ice under some cars. Road crews are still working to clear the roads. Warming shelters have been set up. Thankfully, no deaths have been reported thus far.

Fifty years ago such a snow storm would be used as proof we were entering THE NEW ICE AGE which was all the rage back then.
1977 was real bad here. Used as proof the Ice Age was upon us.
In Alaska, in the USAF, we were taught winter survival skills for driving.
Keep several wool blankets in the car.
Keep two or more cans of STERNO and matches in the car.
Keep hard candy as it increases body heat when eaten.
No need to keep running the car engine as the snow may cause CO from the exhaust to enter the car.
I always kept these in the car back in “The World” of the lower 48.
And Fifty years ago the promise was Chicago would be under a mile of ice by now in THE COMING ICE AGE hoax of that time.

(Can’t help myself, every time i see that girl child’s name and in my mind, i see her snarl, i must write what i hear).
I looked around but didn't see anything. My guess is if any EV got stranded they were metro commuting. That said I have an older sporty car that gets crappy gas milage and has a small gas tank. I get better range than an EV in harsh winter conditions, but fueling concerns is definitely an issue during winter road trips.
Anyone dumb enough to believe climate change is a “fixable problem” is dumber than the mud that fills their otherwise empty heads.

Seems there are certain areas that run into this situation about every winter. Isn’t there someone available in those states who realizes what needs to be done & does it?
